HS SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

Students are not to enter the building by using the Door by the Superintendent's Office after 8:20.  After 8:20 all students are to enter through the Circle Drive Doors!  No exceptions to this rule!

 

There will be a Key Club meeting at lunch in Mrs. Wieber's room TODAY.

TODAY -- Sophomores will meet during lunch in Miss Lawson’s room to discuss homecoming.

TODAY – All Freshman will meet during lunch in Mr. Anton’s room to discuss homecoming.

 

Seniors please sign up for float building sometime before TODAY. You’ll need at least 5 workers during all of the shifts. See Katrina Medernach to sign up. 

 

Auditions for this fall's play, “You Can't be too Careful”, will be held TODAY in the High School library from 3:30-5:30. No experience is needed. Attendance on both days is recommended. If you cannot attend but want to participate, talk to Sarah Yeagle as soon as possible.

Support your favorite Blue Ridge Volleyball player by ordering a t-shirt with their name & number. Apparel order forms are available in the office. Orders and payment need to be turned into the office by TODAY. GO LADY KNIGHTS!!!

Soccer and “The Ridge” Football T-shirt order forms are available in the office!  They are both due on Tuesday, Sept. 2nd.  Order yours today!

There will be a picture Wednesday at 8:50 for all homecoming king and queen candidates in the commons

Attention STUDENTS:  Sign up this week for the student Pep Bus to Friday night’s Football game at Ridgeview vs. the Fisher Bunnies!  The bus leaves at 5:30pm.  To ride the bus is $1 and please pay in the office.  Admission price is $4 for Adults and $3 for students on top of the bus fee.  Also, if you want to stand in the student end zone section, please sign up!  If you’re not on the list, you cannot stand there. 

The volleyball team is hosting a PINK OUT game on September 25th when the Knights play Tri-Valley. We want to fill the gym with pink. Order your 2014 PINK OUT shirt in the office today. Orders and payment are due by September 10th.

 

Fall sports photos have been booked and on the following days:

Wed. Sept. 24-     3:30 Soccer            4:00: Cheer

Wed. Oct. 1-         3:30: volleyball       4:00 All Golf

STUDENTS:  Don’t forget to check the fees and fines list on the bulletin board across from the library and in the Commons area for any fees that are due.

Student pictures will be next Friday, September 5th.  The forms will be handed out next week for you to take home.

 

The Knights soccer team traveled to Iroquois West last night and won 3 - 1.

Scoring for the Knights in the 1st half was Coale Dolbert with an assist by Riley Malone and Landon Magenhiemer assisted by Dylan Grammer.  2nd half was Dylan Grammer unassisted.  Blayne Ziegler had 3 saves.  Their record is 2 – 0.  The Knights travel to Urbana Saturday for the Uni-Shootout.

 

The JV also had a game at Iroquois West and won that contest 4 -0.  Scoring was Landon Magenhiemer with 2 and Jarad Haynes and Logan Boggs  with one each.  Their record is 1-1.

Way to Knights!      

Today the Football Team opens their season against Fisher. Kick-Off Time is 7:00 at Ridgeview. Go RIDGE!

PARENTS:  FRESHMAN will be meeting with JOSTENS for class ring orders on Tuesday, October 21st at 9am.  Orders for class rings will be due on Friday, October 24th at lunchtime and from 3pm - 6pm in the Commons.
 
PARENTS:  SENIOR gradutation announcement, cap/gowns, etc. will have a   meeting with JOSTENS on Thursday, October 23rd at 9am in a class meeting.  Orders will be taken during lunch on Thursday October 30th during lunch that day.

Parents:  Please remember to check on your family lunch account balances often.  If your family lunch account is negative your student will be receiving a cheese sandwich, fruit and milk in the lunch line.  Please call Mrs. Hardesty at the high school for any questions.

Board of Education Meetings: Attend monthly meetings of the Board of Education. Meetings usually fall on the 3rd Wednesday of each month (with a few exceptions). The meeting dates and locations are posted atwww.blueridge18.org. Meeting agendas are published at least 48 hours prior to each meeting.

Facebook: “Like” our Facebook page at “Blue Ridge CUSD 18”

Public Email List: Sign up for our public email list. Go to www.blueridge18.org and click on the link in the upper right-hand corner and enter your email address.

SchoolReach Calls/Emails: Parents of current students - make sure your contact information, including telephone and email addresses are accurate in Skyward. We upload this information each night so it is always current for SchoolReach calls. If you need to make corrections, contact your child’s school. 

SchoolReach Text Message List: For select information we send out text messages (snow days, monthly superintendent’s message). If you would like to be included on this list you have to “Opt in” by notifying your child’s school.

Media: Local newspapers and radio stations provide coverage of school-related events and information.

School Newsletters: Sign up for the email newsletters from BRIJHS and BRHS (contact the school secretary). Schneider School sends their newsletter home to all PreK through 3rd grade students on the back of the lunch menu each month. Announcements are also posted on each school’s webpage at www.blueridge18.org

PIE/Boosters:  Become active in Partner’s in Education (PIE) for grades PreK-6, Jr. High Boosters for grades 7-8, BRHS Boosters for grades 9-12, and BRHS Parent Advisory Committee. Groups usually meet each month. Volunteers are always welcome and needed.
