The Library is CLOSED TODAY, so all students, please report to your original Study Hall classrooms for TODAY only.


The Parent/Player meeting for Winter Sports Girls & Boys Basketball is TONIGHT beginning at 6:00 pm in the new gym.  All Cheerleaders please attend this meeting tonight also.


SIU Carbondale will be here TODAY during 4th hour for a College visit.  Please see Mrs. Whitehouse for a pass.


Key Club is having a bake sale TODAY at Schneider and in the Commons. Items include cupcakes, cookies, brownies, Rice Krispie treats and more all Halloween themed.  Things are only .50 to $1 so please help support the chapter and enjoy some dessert..


The Class of 2015 is selling spirit towels for $5.00 each.  These are a great way to cheer your favorite Blue Ridge team on to victory.  Students can see Justin Jamison or Katrina Medernach to make a purchase. 


Thursday will be the last time this year the golf teams will be sponsoring Gondolas for lunch.  Come and get them!  $3 for sandwich only and $5 for the full meal deal!


Jostens will be here Thursday, October 30th during lunch to take all Senior graduation orders.  Please bring a $60 deposit or check your packet for 3 payment options.  Make it easy and order the Knight pack and receive a FREE cap, gown and tassel and get 10 FREE Photo credits!  Extra packets are available in the HS office.


The Key Club Haunted House is this Friday, October 31st!!!!!  Enter through the North pool door.  5:30pm -6:30pm Lights ON … 6:30 -10pm Lights OFF.  Admission is $2 for students and $3 general admission.  All proceeds go to UNICEF.


The Blue Ridge Thespian Troupe has the great pleasure of announcing that Mrs. Whitehouse, a great fan of author, Geoffrey Chaucer, will be appearing in their dinner theatre production of "The Canterbury Tales...or Geoffrey Chaucer's Flying Circus". Get your ticket to see Mrs. Whitehouse's portrayal of The Boring Scholar as she returns to the Schneider stage in this slightly madcap telling of "The Canterbury Tales". The show is November 7, 8, with dinner at 6pm and the show at 7, and November 9 with dinner at 1pm and show at 2. Tickets are $16 and include a 5 course Italian dinner and loads of laughs. General admission tickets are $10 and limited.  Get your ticket from Sarah Yeagle or any cast member.


The Soccer Team lost a very close and exciting game to Herscher High School last

night in the Super-Sectional Game at Maroa-Forsyth by a score of 1-0. The team played hard and our fans were very supportive.    Thank you from the entire Soccer team and coaching staff for being great fans all season long.  We’re proud of you Knights!


Congratulations to the Varsity Volleyball team on their two set regional semi final win over Fisher last night.  Leading the Knights was Emily Zelhart with 12 assists and 3 aces; Gabby Pearl with 8 kills and 3 blocks and Megan Tsevelekos with 12 digs.  The Knights play for the regional championship Thursday at 6pm in Fisher vs. LeRoy.  Please sign up in the office by noon on Thursday for the Fan Bus, leaving at 5pm.  We need 20 people to go on the bus.  Go Knights!


After school detentions this week are with Mr. Anton and lunch detentions Thursday are with Mr. Watson.


This Friday is a half-day School Improvement Day with early dismissal for students at 11:45am.

High School Parent Teacher conferences will be held on October 28th from 3:30pm - 7pm.  The 2nd night is November 6th from 3:30pm - 7pm.  Please call the office to make your appointment!  928-2622

SENIORS gradutation announcements, cap/gowns, etc. will have a  meeting with JOSTENS on Thursday, October 23rd at 9am in a class meeting.  Orders will be taken during lunch on Thursday October 30th. 


OPERATION SLEIGHBELL has helped families for 30 years have a better Christmas.  Operation Sleighbell will begin taking appointments by phone on November 24th, 2014.

   Piatt County Sales Tax Proposal Information

Piatt County Sales Tax Proposal will be on the ballot November 4th.  Additional information is posted at www.blueridge18.org.

Keeping up-to-date on the latest information from around the School District is easy. There are several ways to stay informed:


Board of Education Meetings: Attend monthly meetings of the Board of Education. Meetings usually fall on the 3rd Wednesday of each month (with a few exceptions). The meeting dates and locations are posted atwww.blueridge18.org. Meeting agendas are published at least 48 hours prior to each meeting.

Facebook: “Like” our Facebook page at “Blue Ridge CUSD 18”

Public Email List: Sign up for our public email list. Go to www.blueridge18.org and click on the link in the upper right-hand corner and enter your email address.

SchoolReach Calls/Emails: Parents of current students - make sure your contact information, including telephone and email addresses are accurate in Skyward. We upload this information each night so it is always current for SchoolReach calls. If you need to make corrections, contact your child’s school. 

SchoolReach Text Message List: For select information we send out text messages (snow days, monthly superintendent’s message). If you would like to be included on this list you have to “Opt in” by notifying your child’s school.

Media: Local newspapers and radio stations provide coverage of school-related events and information.

School Newsletters: Sign up for the email newsletters from BRIJHS and BRHS (contact the school secretary). Schneider School sends their newsletter home to all PreK through 3rd grade students on the back of the lunch menu each month. Announcements are also posted on each school’s webpage at www.blueridge18.org

PIE/Boosters:  Become active in Partner’s in Education (PIE) for grades PreK-6, Jr. High Boosters for grades 7-8, BRHS Boosters for grades 9-12, and BRHS Parent Advisory Committee. Groups usually meet each month. Volunteers are always welcome and needed.
