A few Seniors still need to turn in their pictures to Ms. Thacker for the GRADUATION slide show at graduation!  Time is running out!


Prom tickets will be sold for the last week during lunch in the commons. Prom tickets cost $25 each.  Court members pay a discounted price of $10 each.  Post Prom tickets are $5 each for everyone.  Checks can be made out to: Class of 2015.


The Class of 2017 will be selling freshly baked chocolate chip cookies at lunch in the Commons on Thursday, April 17th.  They are $.50 for 2 cookies!

There will be a Key Club meeting this Thursday at lunch in Mrs. Wieber’s room.


TODAY through next Wed. the 23rd, there will be a mandatory volleyball meeting at 12:30 during lunch in the new gym.


Class of 2015, we will be working on Prom props this Wednesday at 6:00pm at Zeigler's Shop on North Main.  Please try to join us for this fun and important building opportunity and thank you so much to the few that have helped thus far!


Attention tech prep students we have a seminar THIS THURSDAY during 7th and 8th hours. Please be prompt to Mr. Littlefield’s room. 


Spring sports photos will be taken on this Thursday, April 17th at the following times:

Track 2:45 (dismiss at 2:35) Baseball 3:00 (dismiss at 2:50) Softball 3:25


Seniors who have received scholarships from outside sources besides local scholarships, should tell Mrs. Whitehouse so she can mention them at Honors night.  If you have made a decision on your college choice, please let Mrs. Whitehouse know as well.  


Any girl interested in playing basketball next year and has not already received a girls basketball camp form should pick one up in Mr. Brown's room.


Seniors:  please be aware of any fees and fines and Library fees that you may have.  Letters have gone out to your parents on what fines that you may have.  The lists are located on the Commons bulletin board and the bulletin board across from the library.  You cannot graduate with any monies still owed and time is running out!


Blue Ridge's Publication, The Blue Ridge Knightly, can be borrowed from the library or Ms. Johnson's class room.  Pick one up to read on your way to study hall!  A special thank you to the Spring publication board members: Sadie Balazi, Forrest Boggs, Triston Dixon, Jessi Knowles, Blake Maxwell, Shaina McQuaid, and Bailey Wright.


Attention golf team members.... this Saturday, April 19th, the Country Club is holding their annual "clean up day."  It would be great PR for any golf team members that can, to go out and give an hour or two of help in getting the golf course and pool spruced up for the summer months.  This creates very good will between the country club and the golf teams.  It starts at 8:00am and will go through lunch.  Thank you, Coach Hawkins


Today the Varsity Baseball and Softball Teams play Deer-Creek Mackinaw at HOME with both games beginning at 4:30. Go Knights!


After School detentions are with Mr. Anton this week and lunch hour detentions are with Miss Johnson TODAY and Mrs. Friel on Thursday.

Attention Prom students and Parents:   
PROM IS MAY 3RD!  Mahomet IGA is offering a wide variety of wristlets, ribbon colors and decorative jewelry to accent the Prom flowers.  Their Boutonniere's start at $7.99 and wrist corsages start at $17.99.  Samples are available in their floral cooler starting in April.  Call their floral department at 217-586-4121 or "Like" then on Facebook for see more special deals. 
Graduation DVD and picture forms are available in the office from Ten44 Productions.  Pick up the forms in the HS office! 
The Blue Ridge Transportation department is in serious need of substitute drivers. Please spread the word to anyone who may be interested. The District covers the cost to get the proper licensing, including the required physical. The position offers flexible hours, and is perfect for someone who is retired or looking for part time work. Anyone who is interested should call Karl Muth at the Transportation Center, 309-928-2150.


Parents:  Please remember to check on your family lunch account balances often.  If your family lunch account is negative your student will be receiving a cheese sandwich, fruit and milk in the lunch line.  Please call Mrs. Hardesty at the high school for any questions. 


PARENTS:  Please check with the HS office to see if your student has fees and/or fines that need to be paid.  The list is also posted on the Commons bulletin board and on the bulletin board across from the library at the High School.  Thanks for your cooperation!  All fees, if you're a Senior, need to be paid in order to graduate!

Keeping up-to-date on the latest information from around the School District is easy. There are several ways to stay informed:


Board of Education Meetings: Attend monthly meetings of the Board of Education. Meetings usually fall on the 3rd Wednesday of each month (with a few exceptions). The meeting dates and locations are posted atwww.blueridge18.org. Meeting agendas are published at least 48 hours prior to each meeting.

Facebook: “Like” our Facebook page at “Blue Ridge CUSD 18”

Public Email List: Sign up for our public email list. Go to www.blueridge18.org and click on the link in the upper right-hand corner and enter your email address.

SchoolReach Calls/Emails: Parents of current students - make sure your contact information, including telephone and email addresses are accurate in Skyward. We upload this information each night so it is always current for SchoolReach calls. If you need to make corrections, contact your child’s school. 

SchoolReach Text Message List: For select information we send out text messages (snow days, monthly superintendent’s message). If you would like to be included on this list you have to “Opt in” by notifying your child’s school.

Media: Local newspapers and radio stations provide coverage of school-related events and information.

School Newsletters: Sign up for the email newsletters from BRIJHS and BRHS (contact the school secretary). Schneider School sends their newsletter home to all PreK through 3rd grade students on the back of the lunch menu each month. Announcements are also posted on each school’s webpage at www.blueridge18.org

PIE/Boosters:  Become active in Partner’s in Education (PIE) for grades PreK-6, Jr. High Boosters for grades 7-8, BRHS Boosters for grades 9-12, and BRHS Parent Advisory Committee. Groups usually meet each month. Volunteers are always welcome and needed.
