HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

Sign up for the Football Pep Bus for this week’s game is by noon this Friday in the office.  The game is in LeRoy.  Cost is $1 to ride plus admission to the game.

 

Attention Baseball players:  There will a meeting of all Baseball players in Mr. Sparks room TODAY at 12:35.

 

Attention Scholastic Bowl students:  There will be a meeting during lunch with Mr. Miles in the new gym Wednesday.

 

Attention Girls basketball players:  Please return your player information sheets to Coach Brown ASAP.

 

Gondolas will be back this Thursday!  $3 for a sandwich or $5 for the full meal deal!  There is only two more weeks for Gondolas!

 

TOMORROW, Jostens will be here for a Freshman ring meeting during 2nd hour with all ring orders being due on Thursday 10/24 at lunch and from 3-6pm.  Also, Jostens will be here next Thursday during 2nd hour, for a meeting with all Seniors discussing Senior graduation items.

 

The Key Club Haunted House is coming Friday, October 31st!!!!!  Enter through the North pool door.  5:30pm -6:30pm Lights ON … 6:30 -10pm Lights OFF.  Admission is $2 for students and $3 general admission.  All proceeds go to UNICEF.

 

TONIGHT the JV Volleyball team begins play at Lexington for the HOIC Volleyball tournament at 4:15.  Please dismiss JV Volleyball members TODAY at 2:45.  Bus leaves at 3pm.

 

Congratulations to Cory Jayne and Mason Potts for representing Blue Ridge very well in the state finals over the weekend.  Cory shot a two day total of 162 and Mason shot a 166.  Out of 108 golfers, this placed Cory 29th and Mason 42nd.  Great job Knights! 

 

The Knights soccer team is Regional Champions!!  They won their contest on Saturday against Central Catholic with a score of 1-0.  Scoring the only goal on a penalty kick was Coale Dolbert in the 18th minute of play.  Blayne Zeigler was busy with 7 saves.  The soccer team heads to Sectional play at Maroa on Tuesday night at 7PM against Monticello.  Hope to see lots of support to cheer our Knights onto another win.  Great job Knights!!  Also, please sign up for the Pep Bus in the office to go to the game by noon on Tuesday.  $1 to ride plus the cost of admission!

 

TONIGHT the JV Football Team plays at Lexington beginning at 5:30. Go Knights!

 

After school detentions this week are with Mrs. Givens.

HS PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES ANNOUNCED:

High School Parent Teacher conferences will be held on October 28th from 3:30pm - 7pm.  The 2nd night is November 6th from 3:30pm - 7pm.  Please call the office to make your appointment!  928-2622

FRESHMAN will be meeting with JOSTENS for class ring orders on Tuesday, October 21st at 9am.  Orders for class rings will be due on Friday, October 24th at lunchtime and from 3pm - 6pm in the Commons.

   Piatt County Sales Tax Proposal Information

Informational meetings regarding the Piatt County Sales Tax Proposal will be held at Blue Ridge Intermediate and Jr. High School, 107 S. McKinley St., Mansfield, on Thursday, Oct. 23, 7 p.m. in the art room. All are welcome to attend to hear how this affects Blue Ridge Schools. KEEP IN TOUCH WITH THE BLUE RIDGE SCHOOL DISTRICT!! 

Keeping up-to-date on the latest information from around the School District is easy. There are several ways to stay informed:

 

Board of Education Meetings: Attend monthly meetings of the Board of Education. Meetings usually fall on the 3rd Wednesday of each month (with a few exceptions). The meeting dates and locations are posted atwww.blueridge18.org. Meeting agendas are published at least 48 hours prior to each meeting.

Facebook: “Like” our Facebook page at “Blue Ridge CUSD 18”

Public Email List: Sign up for our public email list. Go to www.blueridge18.org and click on the link in the upper right-hand corner and enter your email address.

SchoolReach Calls/Emails: Parents of current students - make sure your contact information, including telephone and email addresses are accurate in Skyward. We upload this information each night so it is always current for SchoolReach calls. If you need to make corrections, contact your child’s school. 

SchoolReach Text Message List: For select information we send out text messages (snow days, monthly superintendent’s message). If you would like to be included on this list you have to “Opt in” by notifying your child’s school.

Media: Local newspapers and radio stations provide coverage of school-related events and information.

School Newsletters: Sign up for the email newsletters from BRIJHS and BRHS (contact the school secretary). Schneider School sends their newsletter home to all PreK through 3rd grade students on the back of the lunch menu each month. Announcements are also posted on each school’s webpage at www.blueridge18.org

PIE/Boosters:  Become active in Partner’s in Education (PIE) for grades PreK-6, Jr. High Boosters for grades 7-8, BRHS Boosters for grades 9-12, and BRHS Parent Advisory Committee. Groups usually meet each month. Volunteers are always welcome and needed.
