 Thursday, November 20th  

The Red Cross Blood Drive will be held TOMORROW in the old gym from 8:30am – 2pm.  You must be at least 16 years old to give blood.  Please remember if you are donating blood to eat a good meal before you give and drink plenty of water. 


The annual Thanksgiving lunch will be served TODAY in the Old Gym.  There are no extra’s today in the lunch line. Be sure and thank the Cafeteria staff for their hard work making the Thanksgiving meal that they have prepared for everyone!


On Wednesday, November 26th Blue Ridge FFA and the Casey’s General Store of Farmer City are partnering up to "Pump for Hayden". FFA Members will pump gas and wash windows for tips from 10AM -12PM. All money raised will go to Hayden Schaumburg and his family. Hayden is a senior at Watseka High School and Watseka FFA chapter President. He broke his neck during a football accident. Please come fill up and show support to Hayden and his family. 


The Class of 2018 is selling class shirts to raise money for prom/post prom.  We are offering them to 7th-12th grade and they will be delivered before Christmas.  The deadline is December 3rd and forms are available in the HS office.  Thanks for your support!!!

All Soccer and Volleyball players are invited to ride in the Farmer City Christmas parade this Sunday to help celebrate their great seasons.  The parade starts off at 2:00, so you are asked to meet at Zeigler's trailer at the fairgrounds between 1:30-1:45.

TONIGHT the Girls Basketball Team begins its season by playing at Georgetown-Ridge Farm beginning at 6:00; and the Scholastic Bowl Team opens its season at HOME against Deland-Weldon with the First Toss Up being read at 4:15. Go Knights!


After school detentions this week will be with Mr. Seneca.

Keeping up-to-date on the latest information from around the School District is easy. There are several ways to stay informed:


Board of Education Meetings: Attend monthly meetings of the Board of Education. Meetings usually fall on the 3rd Wednesday of each month (with a few exceptions). The meeting dates and locations are posted atwww.blueridge18.org. Meeting agendas are published at least 48 hours prior to each meeting.

Facebook: “Like” our Facebook page at “Blue Ridge CUSD 18”

Public Email List: Sign up for our public email list. Go to www.blueridge18.org and click on the link in the upper right-hand corner and enter your email address.

SchoolReach Calls/Emails: Parents of current students - make sure your contact information, including telephone and email addresses are accurate in Skyward. We upload this information each night so it is always current for SchoolReach calls. If you need to make corrections, contact your child’s school. 

SchoolReach Text Message List: For select information we send out text messages (snow days, monthly superintendent’s message). If you would like to be included on this list you have to “Opt in” by notifying your child’s school.

Media: Local newspapers and radio stations provide coverage of school-related events and information.

School Newsletters: Sign up for the email newsletters from BRIJHS and BRHS (contact the school secretary). Schneider School sends their newsletter home to all PreK through 3rd grade students on the back of the lunch menu each month. Announcements are also posted on each school’s webpage at www.blueridge18.org

PIE/Boosters:  Become active in Partner’s in Education (PIE) for grades PreK-6, Jr. High Boosters for grades 7-8, BRHS Boosters for grades 9-12, and BRHS Parent Advisory Committee. Groups usually meet each month. Volunteers are always welcome and needed.
