Picture Day is Thursday, Sept. 2nd. We will start right at 8:30 a.m. with pictures. Please make sure your child has their money with them that morning. We will be having an evacuation drill on Thursday, Sept. 2nd. Attached is the letter that will go home with students on Tuesday, Aug. 31st. Please explain to your student that this is just a drill. Emergency Drill Letter
No School - Monday, September 6 - Labor Day.
We start our regular schedule on Tuesday, Sept. 7th with 3:10 dismissal.
Open House/Book Fair is Thursday, Sept. 9th. The book fair will run from 6:00 to 8 p.m. with the Open House from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Just a reminder, please send lunch money on the first school day of the week. Also please make sure the money is in an envelope and the students name is on the front of the envelope. Thanks!
Don't forget to check grades on Skyward. You may check your student's grades on Skyward. If you have lost your password or have never been on skyward before contact the office so we can get you set up on Skyward.
Sports
The Blue Ridge Baseball has home games Monday, Aug. 30th against Ridgeview and Tuesday, Aug. 31st against Champaign Judah. They play at Tri-Valley on Thursday, Sept. 2nd.
Girls' junior high basketball practice started on Monday, Aug. 30th. Girls in grades 6-8th are eligible to play. Practices are after school.
PIE/JH Booster News
Blue Ridge PIE the parent/teacher organization for Schneider and Mansfield Elementary Schools will hold its first meeting of the year immediately following the Market Day pick-up on Thursday, September 2 in the Schneider Elementary School Cafeteria. Topics to be discussed are the Knight Walk, the Mansfield Elementary playground progress, assemblies, teacher requests and future programs. All are welcome to attend.
Blue Ridge PIE's KNIGHT WALK is scheduled for Friday, September 24. KNIGHT WALK forms were sent home on Friday, August 27. Students have two weeks to collect donations. Money is due back on Friday, September 10. Prize incentives for this year's walk are: Exclusive Knight Walk t-shirt ($25+); Exclusive aluminum water bottle ($50+); Exclusive sport duffel bag ($100+). Blue Ridge Junior High and High School Boosters are selling Knighwear. Order forms were available at registration and were sent home last Friday. They are due back on Friday, September 3rd.
