HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

for Monday, April 15th            

 

Congratulations to the Thespian Troupe for a great show last weekend!  Thanks to all the kids who put a lot of time and effort into the play, parents for their support and to the Yeagle’s who give of their time for the arts.

Seniors:  The senior class trip is being planned for May 21st.  Forms are in the office and due back TODAY!

TODAY Key Club will be meeting during lunch to assemble the kits.  Please come and help!

Congratulations to Cody Phillips for winning the library putt-putt tournament Friday again a strong field of competitors with an amazing score of 8.  Cody - please go to the library to pick up your prize, a box donuts holes! 

Prom and Post Prom tickets will be sold in the commons during lunch TODAY thru Friday, April 26th.  Prom tickets are $20 each and Post Prom tickets are $10 each. No tickets will be sold at the door. If you are not here during lunch, please see Mrs. Lagle to purchase your tickets either before or after school.  Please plan on purchasing tickets with whom you are walking with at Promenade AT THE SAME TIME!  Non-Blue Ridge Guest Forms and Post Prom waivers must be signed and returned by Friday, April 26th, no exceptions!

Prom T-shirt forms are available in the office or with Mrs. Lagle.

For those that have finished the season with the team, there will be a scholastic bowl meeting on Thursday at 12:15 in the chem lab.

Attention all Book Club members:   please come to the library on Thursday, April 18th right after lunch for a quick picture.

 

The following students have coupons for tuxedo rentals @ Men's Wearhouse - Brenden Flannell, Brady Masengale, Luke Nichols, and Zach Stephens.  Please see them for the coupons!

 

Seniors:  There are still some of you who need to bring in your baby pictures for the graduation slideshow.  The last day to accept senior pics is May 1st. If you don’t have them in digital form, bring them in and we can scan and return them to you.

Seniors, also be sure to check the bulletin boards for your fees and fines owed to the high school.  Pay them in the office.  Also, after May 1st, all payments must be made in CASH!  No checks will be accepted.

There will be a Spanish Club picture on Wednesday at 9 am in the old gym for the yearbook!

Farmer City Baseball is sponsoring a Monical’s Pizza Community Day.  Monical’s will donate 20% of your bill to Farmer City Baseball on Tuesday, April 23rd.  This would be valid at any Gibson City, Mahomet or Clinton location!  Come out and join us for a worthwhile cause!  Forms are in the office.

Summer Volleyball camp forms are available from Coach Miles.  Please return by May 11th.

High school summer girls basketball camp will begin June 4th from 2:30pm to 4pm, and June 5th – 7th from 12:00 noon to 2pm.  Deadline is April 26th.  Pick up the forms in the office or for additional information. 

The Blue Ridge JV baseball team evened up their record at 1 & 1 as they dominated Cerro-Gordo-Bement on Saturday by a score of 21 to 2.  Cole Stephens went the distance in this game shortened by the 15-Run Rule.  He struck out 7 Bronco batters and only gave up 1 earned run.  Stephens also scored 4 runs and collected a double while driving in 2 runs in the contest.  Dillon Kelley had 3 hits, scored 2 runs, and drove in 2 more to pace the offensive attack.  Ben Potter also tallied 2 hits and 3 RBI in the game.  Other Knights to collect a safety at the dish were: Victor Reynolds, Bobby Schumacher, Levi Brooke, and Wyatt Danner-Duncan.  Other Knights to drive in runs were: Tyler Nichols, Wyatt Danner-Duncan, Levi Brooke, Ben Wallace, Luke Clancy, Bobby Schumacher, and Victor Reynolds.  All in all, it was a very impressive victory for the JV Knights.  The JV squad's next game will be on the road at Cerro-Gordo-Bement on Monday, April 22nd.  

Congrats to the varsity girls track team for placing 3rd out of 11 teams at the Prairie Central invite on Sat.  Congrats to Jenna Mozingo for placing first in both hurdle events and getting school records in the 100HH at 16.62s and 49.68 in the 300IH.  The 4x800m team of Jamie Wanserksi, Jessie Wanserski, Macie Hamm and

Bri Wallace finished 2nd overall.  The varsity 4x400 team of Jenna Mozingo, Jessie Wanserksi, Katie Bowns and Bri Wallace placed 3rd with a PR time of 4:49.5.  The F/S 4x400 team of Jamie Wanserksi, Sarah Whitehouse, Macey Hamm and Carley Ester placed 3rd overall as well.  Macey Hamm placed 3rd in the 1600m run. 

Katie Cole got a PR in the discus, as did Katie Bowns and Josephine Aldrich in the 3200m run.  Way to go Lady Knights track and field!

Today the Baseball and Softball teams play Argenta-Oreana at HOME beginning at 4:30.  There will also be a JV Softball game shortly after. Go Knights!

After school detentions this week are with Mr. Anton. 

The concession stand will not be open today during lunch in the Commons.  Come to the cafeteria purchase ala-carte items!
