HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

For Wednesday, August 28th

Please do not use the elevator unless you have the approval from the office!  You will receive a detention if you are caught on the elevator without permission.

Please join us for FCA TODAY during lunch in the chem lab.  If you have any questions, see Mr. Sparks or any current member.

Students: Soon we will be voting for class officers and also nominating classmates for Homecoming attendants in your English classes.  We’ll select Senior Homecoming King/Queen candidates and Freshman thru Junior attendants.  If any other student wishes not to be nominated for Homecoming Attendant this year, please see, or email, Ms. Loop before this Friday.  

Any student who wishes to run for class officer...President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer...should see Ms. Loop by TODAY.  Elections will be held the beginning of September.  Officers will be responsible for Homecoming preparations and organizing class fundraisers.

Attention Freshman class members …. your order forms and money for the Mum Fundraiser are due this Friday, Aug 30th. They should be turned in to the office.

Auditions for “The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood” will be held this Thursday and Friday after school in the library. If you would like to be involved and can't make it to auditions, talk to Miss Yeagle as soon as possible!

Attention Key Club officers:  this Friday, August 30th will be the first meeting of officers.  Meetings will be held during lunch in Mrs. Davis' room.  A new year has begun, and we need to start planning.

Yearbooks are in!!  Extra yearbooks for sale in Ms. Thacker's room, they are $50 in Ms. Thacker’s room.

Thinking about a hands-on career?  Parkland College is having a Career Exploration Night on September 4 from 4-6 pm.  Meet local employers, get expert advice on your career path, and tour their high-tech labs.  If you are interested in horticulture, collision repair, construction management, electronics, diesel power, automotive, industrial technology, agriculture or welding, check it out.  To register go to parkland.edu/CTECareerNight.

Congratulations to the Blue Ridge Soccer team on last night’s win over Danville Schlarman with a final score of 7-0.  Leading in goals were Brendan Flannell with 4, Colin Magenheimer with 2, Victor Reynolds with 1.  Assists were Brenden Flannell with 1, Jacy Dean with 1 and Joey Leidner with 1.  Today the Soccer Team plays Rantoul at HOME beginning at 4:30. Go Knights!
