Are you interested in playing soccer?  Do you want to try indoor soccer this spring?

BRHS soccer is signing up a team for the indoor league at Soccer Planet in Urbana starting Feb 14th.  Come join us and try out something new.  Please see Mrs. Flannell to sign up or with any questions.

 

The CEO class will be hosting a 5k/ 1 mile run on January 25th in Forsyth at 9am. If anyone wants any further details please speak with Brenden Flannell or Gabe Jenkins. 

 

Today is the 6th day of the Semester. Students can no longer add another class. However, you can still drop a class through the end of the 5th week of the semester, February 7th.

 

Auditions for “The Magical Land of Oz” will be held Thursday and Friday, 1/16 and 1/17 in the library from 3:30-5:30. If you want to be involved but can’t attend, please talk to Miss Yeagle as soon as you are able. We need Actors, singers, stage crew, director’s assistant, light & sound operators! No experience is needed or necessary!!!

The next FFA SAE night is Thursday, January 16th at 6pm in the Ag Room. Parents and students are invited to attend to learn and work on SAEs.

 

There will be a Student Council Meeting during lunch on Tuesday in Ms. Loop’s room.  All members are strongly encouraged to attend.

 

Since some Blue Ridge students and staff members are going to Europe this summer, Ms. Loop is sponsoring an INTERNATIONAL CLUB instead of Spanish Club this semester.  The first meeting of the International Club will be Thursday, during lunch, in Ms. Loop’s room.  Students do not need to be enrolled in a foreign language class to join. 

 

The next Blue Ridge FFA Meeting is January 23rd with committees meeting at 6:30pm and the regular meeting at 7pm.

On Saturday at the IHSSBCA 20 team Tournabout at Mattoon, the Varsity Scholastic Bowl A team went 5-3 on the day capturing 6th place defeating Rantoul, Danville, Palestine-Hutsonville, Cumberland and Shiloh only losing to Charleston and close matches to Effingham and Greenville.  The Varsity B team went 3-5 defeating Danville, ALAH B, and Rantoul B.  Leading the 18-6 varsity A team in toss-ups was Nadia Beadle with 28 followed by Hutch Partlow with 24, Sami Boogren with 14, Mitchell Houser with 10 and Josephine Aldrich with 6.  Leading the Varsity B team in toss-ups was Abby Johnson with 17 followed by Aiden Soliday with 15, Luke Sheltra with 13 and Conner Otto and Ben Potter with 4 each. 

Today the Girls Basketball Team plays Argenta-Oreana at HOME beginning at 6:00. Go
