DAILY STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

Students, please remember, per the school dress code, hats are not allowed and detentions will be given if students are wearing them in school.
There will be an International Club meeting in Ms. Loop’s room Thursday from 2:25-2:45 to discuss a Bollywood theme party later this month. All current International Club members, and any new students wishing to join International Club, are encouraged to attend.
Thursday during lunch, FFA Officers will have a meeting in the Ag Room.
The yearbook class will need 2 senior pics, 2 baby pics and 2 other pictures of you growing up by Apr. 1st. You can send these digitally to athacker@blueridge18.org or bring them to the school to be scanned!
Cheerleaders will have practice this Friday from 2:30-4:30 in the Old Gym.
Seniors - Local scholarship packets are now available in the Library! Packets are for any Senior interested in applying.
There will be an FFA meeting Wednesday at the High School. Committees start at 6:30 pm and the Chapter meeting is at 7 pm. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
Next week is FFA Week! Feel free to participate and use the hashtag #BlueRidgeFFA to join in on the fun. Monday is USA Theme dress up- share your pictures on social media to be counted in the FFA Week drawing. Tuesday is dress like your teacher, Wednesday is beach theme, Thursday is Orange and Camo along with the Virtual College Fair at 5pm, and Friday is Blue and Gold. Be sure to see any FFA Officer or Ms. Meisner when you dress up to get in the FFA Week drawing.
March 2nd after school will be team sports photos.

The 3rd Annual "Hunting for your Future" College Fair hosted by Blue Ridge FFA has gone virtual! See posters around the school to sign up for the Virtual College Fair on February 25th, 2021 at 5 pm. See any FFA Officer or Ms. Meisner for any information.
The Blue Ridge FFA is hosting their 1st Annual Barnyard Stampede Virtual 5k. See posters March 19th-28th. $25 for Blue Ridge Students and Employees and FFA Alumni, $30 for other participants. Sign up and pay with any FFA Member or by the QR code on the posters by March 5th to receive a medal and shirt.
Senior Boys Basketball night will be held this Friday at 6pm in the new gym.
Senior Girls Basketball night will be held next Wednesday, 2/24 at 6pm in the new gym.
Congrats to the JV scholastic bowl team on defeating Villa Grove 230-100 improving their overall record to 6-3 overall (4-3 in the LPC). Leading a balanced JV scoring attack was Addison Warsaw with 5 tossups followed by Conner Otto with 3 and Mara Denney with 2. The Varsity lost to a good Villa Grove team and dropped their overall record to 31-14 (8-2 in the LPC). Leading the Knights were Sami Boogren with 3 followed by Hutch Partlow with 2 and Aiden Soliday and Annabell Johnson with 1 each
Monday, 14 FFA Members interviewed in 21 areas for Section 16 Proficiencies. Students involved include Kelsie Madden, Tatem Madden, Sami Boogren, Lindsey Quinn, Sydney Rausch, Gracie Shaffer, Anna Place, Abby Bolen, Kaleb Southern, Gracie Myers-Nichols, Morgan Drozs, Jaton Shaffer, Tray Hardesty, and Hank Mitchell. Students advancing to Districts in March include Lindsey Quinn in Ag Communications, Tray Hardesty in Ag Mechanics Repair and Maintenance, Jaton Shaffer in Ag Sales, Kaleb Southern in Equine Science, Tatem Madden in Food Service, Hank Mitchell in Forage Production, and Morgan Drozs in Specialty Crop.
After school detentions this week are with Mrs. Ringel in room 212 from 2:20 to 3:00pm.
