for Monday, March 29th         

 

 

An updated Chamber of Commerce scholarship application is available in the library. Please stop by to grab one. All scholarship applications and materials are due back March 31st.

 

Seniors, FASFA is a graduation requirement this year. You will need to return a waiver to show you have completed your FASFA application, or a non-participation form to exempt you. One of these waivers is due back in order to receive your diploma. Please check the counseling google classroom or see Mrs. Coy for a waiver packet.

 

The yearbook class will need 2 senior pics, 2 baby pics and 2 other pictures of you growing up by Apr. 1st.  You can send these digitally to athacker@blueridge18.org or bring them to the school to be scanned! 

 

Seniors - Local scholarship packets are now available in the Library!  Packets are for any Senior interested in applying. 

Volleyball, Football, Football cheer, and Soccer pictures will be Monday, April 5th after school due to a scheduling change.  The schedule is as follows

2:30: Volleyball; new gym

3:00 Football; at football field

3:30 Football cheer: at football field

4:00 Soccer: at practice field behind the school

 

The next FFA meeting is March 31st with committees at 6:30 and chapter at 7. Officer elections are that evening and we will have a FFA cookout to cheer on from afar the football team with their first home game. 

 

Before break FFA members competed virtually in the Section 16 Food Science competition. The team placed 3rd overall with team members including Anthony Thompson, Sierra Farrare, Brenna Friel, Gracie Myers Nichols, Sami Boogren, Sydney Rausch, Kaleb Southern, and Abby Bolen.  Anthony was 2nd overall and Brenna was 6th overall at the event.

 

BRHS Soccer had an exciting spring break.  On Tuesday March 23, the Knights defeated Danville Schlarman 5-0.  Scoring for the Knights was Hank Mitchell assisted by Victor Reynolds.  Victor Reynolds scored 4 points assisted by Austin Hobbs and Bradley Flannell.  Abby Bolen had 8 saves.  Then on March 25, the Knights defeated the Meridian Hawks 3-0.  Scoring for the Knights was Victor Reynolds with 2 and Austin Hobbs with 1.  Abby Bolen had 5 saves.  Your soccer team is in action again tonight at Fisher starting at 5:30.  GO KNIGHTS!!

 

Over break the Varsity Volleyball team went 4-1 defeating Georgetown Ridge-Farm 25-11, 25-8, Judah Christian 25-16, 25-12, Villa Grove 23-25 25-17, 25-8, and Heritage 25-13, 19-25, 25-8 while losing to Tri County in straight sets to improve their overall record to 5-1.  The JV went 1-3 over break defeating Georgetown Ridge-Farm while losing to Judah Christian, Villa Grove and Tri County all in 3 sets.  Go Knights!

 

 

This weekend, 4 FFA members competed in the State FFA Awards day with their record books. 3 of our members placed top 5 in the state- Morgan Drozs in Specialty Crop Production, Lindsey Quinn in Ag Communications, and Hank Mitchell in Forage Production. Jaton Shaffer competed in Ag Sales Placement and was selected as the State Winner in his area and will be advancing to nationals. Congratulations!

 

 After school detentions this week are with Mrs. Ringel until 3pm.
