Seniors, don’t forget your FASFA waivers and turn them in to the library!

 

Soccer players, please return your uniforms this week to Mrs. Flannell.

 

TODAY, there will be a Student Council meeting during lunch in Ms. Loop’s room to discuss Teacher Appreciation Week.

 

FCA will meet TODAY in Mr. Minteer’s room!  Please come and join us and there will be snacks!!!!

 

Subway cards for scholastic bowl are still available.  Please see Mr. Miles if you’d like to purchase one!

 

Seniors - return your library books TODAY!  After May 1st, all fees must be paid in CASH or Credit Card.

All Students:  please return your library books by May 3rd.  You will be charged for lost books if they are not returned.  Fines are now being charged for late books! 

If you are interested in working for the school in the technology department over the summer, please provide a resume and letter of interest to Mr. Kramer as soon as possible. Computer and networking experience is recommended.

For those students who received their 1st COVID shots, the 2nd shot has been set up for May 13th.

It will be the same procedure as the last time. New forms need to be signed from your parents.

 

Summer Volleyball camp forms are in the office for the Volleyball girls.

 

May 12 will be spring sports photos the schedule is as follows:

Softball: 2:30: on the softball field

Girls track: 3:00 practice field 

Boys track 3:30 practice field

Baseball 4:00 at south park or practice field 

 

Wednesday night Jaton Shaffer and Sydney Rausch competed in the District 4 FFA Public Speaking Event. Sydney competed in JV Extemporaneous and was 5th overall in her area. Jaton competed in Varsity Extemporaneous and was 2nd overall and will be advancing to state in May. Congratulations!

 

Congratulations to Jaton Shaffer and Abby Bolen who have been selected as two of the 2021 WYXY FFA All-Stars. They have been selected from FFA Members across East Central Illinois and West Central Indiana. Way to go! 

Boys track participated in a meet with PBL and Milford last night.  Hank Mitchell won the 200 meter dash with a personal record time of 27.29 seconds. Hank also had a PR in the 400 along with Joey Leidner in the Long Jump, Dawson Raines in the Discus and Mason Partlow in both the shot and discus.  The team scored 19 points coming in third place.

Last night at the PBL track meet the BR Varsity girls team placed a respectable 2nd place overall.  Winning their events was Katie Bowns in the 3200, the 4x800 team of Gracie Shaffer, Ella Danner Duncan, Katie Bowns and Macey Hamm and Alexis Wike in the TJ and the HJ.  There were plenty of 2nd place finishes by the Lady Knights.  And give it up to Alexis Wike for breaking the high school record in the High Jump last night with a jump of 1.56m or 5' 1.4".  Way to go Lady Knights track and field!

 

2021 BRHS Prom Coronation will be live streamed on the district YouTube channel this Saturday, May 1st at 3:00 pm.  Post Prom is at the high school that evening from 8-11 pm. Only BRHS Juniors and Seniors are allowed to attend. Students are to enter through the circle drive door. No one is allowed to enter after 8:15 & the doors will be locked. Have a fun and safe time everyone!
