What does dancing, counting, and pieces of fabric all have in common? They can all be found at any marching band event with the Color Guard! Color Guard Clinics to join a competitive team that performs with the marching band will be May 25th-27th from 4-5pm here at the high school. Any current freshmen thru juniors are welcome to attend! You do not have to know anything, as we will teach it to you, just wear school appropriate clothes you can move in, tennis shoes, and bring a positive attitude. See Mr. Mitchell in the band room, Ms. Meisner in the Ag Room, or any current member for any questions or more information.

Congratulations to the members of the Blue Ridge FFA on their work with the National Chapter Application. It was just announced that Blue Ridge is the Section 16 winner in the area of Growing Leaders, an overall Gold Rating Chapter, and a Premier Chapter ranking in the top 1% of all FFA Chapters in Illinois being selected as one of the National Finalists with their application advancing to the National Level this summer for the second year in a row. Congratulations!

The next FFA Meeting is Monday, May 17th at 6pm. We will watch the Section 16 Banquet starting at 6 with our game night meeting following.

BRHS Yearbooks are for sale right now until May 28th.  This is a change in the date from an announcement made a week ago.  You can order online  at www.jostensyearbooks.com or bring a check made out to BRHS yearbook or cash to Ms. Thacker for $50 to order yours.  Only a few extra books will be ordered so make sure you get yours before May 28.

Sydnee Evans pitched more than well enough to win with 7 innings pitches, 3 Hits, 1 earned runs and 4 strikeouts. But 6 errors by the defense behind her was the difference as Blue Ridge gets beat 5 to 4 in last night’s game against Martinsville. Blue Ridge’s Lily Summers was 2 for 2 including a Solo HR which was the first of her career. Ashlyn Voyles added a 2 run HR, her second of the year. The Lady Knights are back in action tonight vs. Fisher at Fisher at 4:30.  Good Luck Lady Knights!

Today’s lunch menu is: Bosco Sticks with Marinara or the alternative lunch of Bagel & Cream Cheese
