DAILY STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

Did you loose your phone on Friday?  Come to the office, we may have it!

 

The following students need to return soccer uniforms to Mrs Flannell:

Victor Reynolds & Dylan Coffey, please return your white jersey, today!

 

All Students:  please return your library books TODAY.  You will be charged for lost books if they are not returned.  Fines are now being charged for late books! 

What does dancing, counting, and pieces of fabric all have in common? They can all be found at any marching band event with the Color Guard! Color Guard Clinics to join a competitive team that performs with the marching band will be May 25th-27th from 4-5pm here at the high school. Any current freshmen thru juniors are welcome to attend! You do not have to know anything, as we will teach it to you, just wear school appropriate clothes you can move in, tennis shoes, and bring a positive attitude. See Mr. Mitchell in the band room, Ms. Meisner in the Ag Room, or any current member for any questions or more information.

 

Congratulations to the members of the Blue Ridge FFA on their work with the National Chapter Application. It was just announced that Blue Ridge is the Section 16 winner in the area of Growing Leaders, an overall Gold Rating Chapter, and a Premier Chapter ranking in the top 1% of all FFA Chapters in Illinois being selected as one of the National Finalists with their application advancing to the National Level this summer for the second year in a row. Congratulations!

 

The next FFA Meeting is Monday, May 17th at 6pm. We will watch the Section 16 Banquet starting at 6 with our game night meeting following. 


BRHS Yearbooks are for sale right now until May 28th.  This is a change in the date from an announcement made a week ago.  You can order online  at www.jostensyearbooks.com or bring a check made out to BRHS yearbook or cash to Ms. Thacker for $50 to order yours.  Only a few extra books will be ordered so make sure you get yours before May 28.

 

Cheer open gyms will be held June 8, 9 and 10 from 3:30-5 for anyone wishing to try out for the football and/or basketball seasons next school year.  Tryouts will be held Friday, June 11 starting at 9 am.  Email Coach Woliung or stop by to see her to get on the email list for tryout video links and more info to come.  You won't want to miss these links, as they will get you prepared for open gym week.

 

Congrats to Gracie Shaffer for being nominated to the News Gazette all area volleyball 2nd team.  Also congrats to Nadia Beadle and Jenna Mozingo for being named to the all area honorable mention list for volleyball.  Way to go Lady Knights Volleyball!

Sydnee Evans picked up her 4th win Friday night, tossing a complete game, allowing only 4 hits, 0 ER, and added 3 strike outs. Ashlyn Voyles led the way with 3 hits including 2 2Bs, Jasmine Bennett and Cassie Zimmerman both had 2 hits, and Senior Avery Place launched a 2 run HR her first of the year as they beat Fisher 4 to 1.  Way to go Lady Knights Softball!

CONGRATULATIONS to this amazing group of FFA members! Saturday they competed at state and the results are in!  Jaton Shaffer was 2nd overall in the state in Extemporaneous Speaking!!!  Conduct of Chapter Meetings team was 3rd overall in state competition!!!

Kaleb Southern was 6th overall President, Lillian Enger was 6th overall Floor member, and Gracie Shaffer was 7th overall floor member!!
