The Spring pops concert will be held TONIGHT at 7:30pm in the old Gym.

Library books are due TODAY!

 This month come join FCA  will be looking at how music can help shape, encourage, and challenge us to live life well. FCA will meet on this Thursday May 12th at lunch in Mr. Minteer's room. Join us for food, fun, and encouragement!  This week we'll be having tater tot casserole!  

 

Attention Juniors and Seniors:  Please check Ms. Hieronymus' Counselor Google Classroom Junior and Senior pages for the link to vote for Prom King and Queen.  Voting ends Wednesday @ 3:30 pm.

 

Any incoming freshman through senior who is interested in learning a new skill, being part of a competitive team, and a component of school spirit is invited to the 2022 Color Guard Clinics and Auditions. No experience is necessary and you never know if you can achieve it if you don't try it. Clinics are in the old gym on May 11th and 12th from 5:30-6:30 and May 16th and 18th from 5:30-6:30 with Auditions being on May 19th from 5:30-7:30. It is okay if you can't make it to clinics. See any current guard member or Ms. Meisner for more information.

 

Seniors - all fines now must be paid in cash by May 20th.

Are you a young woman at least 16 years of age? Are you wanting to gain friendships, memories, and a way to promote DeWitt County? Then you are invited to "Lunch with the Queen" on May 11th during lunch in the Ag Room. The 2021-2022 Miss Farmer City- DeWitt County Fair Queen Lindsey Quinn will be in the Ag Room willing to talk to anyone interested in running in the pageant this summer. Lunch will be provided. To make sure we have enough lunch, register for the event by 1st Hour on May 11th by emailing Ms. Meisner or by using the QR Code on any of the posters around the school about the event. 

FFA Chapters in Illinois complete an application covering what they have done over the course of the year in the areas of Growing Leaders, Strengthening Agriculture, and Building Communities in the hopes of being recognized as a top chapter. This morning it was announced that Blue Ridge FFA is the Section 16 Winner in the area of Growing Leaders and is the overall Premier Chapter for Section 16. Blue Ridge FFA also earned the title of an Illinois Premier Chapter ranking in the top 1% in Illinois and will be advancing to Nationals this summer. Congratulations to all FFA members for all of your work especially the Officer Team for their work on the application. 

Boys track participated in the Lincoln Prairie Conference meet yesterday.  Cole Pemble came away as the conference champion in the long jump with a leap of 21' 9".  He also placed 3rd in the 200 and 5th in the 100.  Matt Schumacher placed 3rd in the Shot Put. We had two personal records from Hank Mitchell and Kyle Watkins in the High Jump and 1600m run respectively.  Great job Knights!

Congrats to the lady knights track team for placing 5th out of 11 LPC teams in a highly competitive conference meet yesterday at Cerro Gordo.  Alexis Wike won the 400 while placing 2nd in the HJ and  the 200m by one one hundredth of a second with a PR time of 27.21s.  Phoebe Reynolds placed 2nd in the 100HH with a PR time and 4th in LJ, 5th in TJ and the 300IH.  Gracie Shaffer ran a blistering PR time in the 3200 at 15:16 placing 4th.  Gracie also placed 4th in the 300 IH with a PR time as well.  The 4x800 team of Gracie Shaffer, Sami Boogren, Anna Place and Morgan Drozs placed a respectable 5th.  Nice job ladies!  The lady knights are gearing up for their sectional meet tomorrow at Central Catholic with a bus time of 12:40 pm.  Go knights!

Blue Ridge Lady Knights fell behind and could not come back in a 4-1 loss to Fisher on Monday.  Alexis Young went 2-for-3 at the plate and batted in the run to lead the team.  Ellie Schleiper took the loss going seven innings, allowing four runs on seven hits, striking out three and walking zero.  Last home game against conference Tri-County is Wednesday, game time 430 at Weedman Park.  Come cheer on your Lady Knights!

Lunch menu for today is: Walking Taco or an alternative of Bagel with Cream Cheese
