HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

        for Tuesday, March 5th      

 

“The Who Company” will have Sneeches rehearsal TODAY during lunch in the old gym.

 

TODAY after school … Strawberries will be delivered to the Ag Shop! Pick up will be from 3:30 - 5pm. 

 

There will be a meeting TODAY during lunch in the old gym for anyone interested in Bass Fishing with Coach Williamson.

 

The National Honor Society’s induction ceremony will be held TONIGHT at 7pm.

 

It’s Dewey’s Drive-In time again and you can work there!  We have applications in the office!  Please bring them filled out to the office as soon as you can!

Those interested in being a part of the color guard team (people who have flags with the marching band) clinics will be starting soon! There is no obligation to audition by attending a clinic- it is for you to be able to learn. There are 2 clinic’s remaining on Wednesday, March 6th and March 11th from 5:30-7pm. Auditions for the team are March 19th from 5:30-7pm. Talk to any current guard member or Ms. Meisner for more information.

 

Are you interested in a career in a trade union?  On Thursday, March 14th, during 6th and 7th hour there will be a presentation about trade union career opportunities from the East Central Illinois Construction Trades Association. Any students who have not already signed up with Mr. Seneca are welcome to sign up with either Mr. Seneca or Mrs. Whitehouse by March 13th. 

 

Jostens will be here to deliver 2019 Senior graduation orders Wednesday BEFORE SCHOOL. Please see your invoice for all payment options on delivery date.  Any senior that still needs to turn in their cap and gown order, you may do so at this time.  Any student may place an order for a class ring that day as well. Contact Jostens if you have any questions.

 

If you have a tattoo that you would like displayed in the yearbook, see Ms. Thacker.

 

Attention Juniors: Prom Committee will have a meeting during lunch on Thursday in Mrs. Lagle's room.

The high school Boosters Cash Bash is Saturday, March 9th at the Farmer City Legion.

In other March upcoming dates:

·         The Fine Arts Expo will be held at the high school on Tuesday, March 12th starting at 6pm.

·         End of the 3rd quarter is on March 15th.

·         Report cards go home on March 22nd with early dismissal that day.

·         Spring Break is March 25 – March 29.  We’ll come back to school on Monday, April 1st.

 

The Varsity Knights Scholastic Bowl regular season came to an end last night losing the regional championship match on the very last bonus part to Fisher 320-330.  The Knights won the first two rounds defeating Hoopeston 410-280 and GCMS 420-300.  The Knights were led in toss-ups by Tyler Maxwell with 20 followed by Luke Nichols with 8, Nadia Beadle with 4, Josephine Aldrich with 2 and Mitchell Houser with 1.  The Knights ended their regular season with a respectable 51-13 record overall.  Way to go Knights!

Congratulations to the 2019-2020 FFA newly elected officers from last night’s meeting.  They will officially take over in April after the FFA Banquet.  They are:

After school detentions this week are with Mr. Sawyer.  Lunch detentions TODAY are with Mr. Seneca.
