DAILY STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

for Tuesday, December 8th  

Welcome back!  Please make sure we stay back in school by washing your hands and sanitizing them often!

Please remember that there is no hats or hoodies to be warn during the day in school.  This is a handbook policy and it will be enforced.

Attention all Seniors:  please come the office to sign off on the spelling of your name for your graduation diploma.

The Clinton Community YMCA is looking for part-time staff for the Blue Ridge Y-Zone after school program held at Schneider Elementary School that begins January 4th, 2021.  You must be 15 years old.  Contact Clinton YMCA to inquire about the job.  There are flyers in the high school office if you are interested!

The Student Council is hosting a Holiday Spirit Week for next week,  December 14-18th!  

Spirit Dress-Up Days will be:

Monday- Pajama Day

Tuesday- Christmas/Hanukkah Colors Day

Wednesday- Masks, Ties, and/or Socks Day

Thursday- Holiday Character Day

Friday- Ugly Holiday Sweaters and Masks Day

 

There will be a Student Council meeting at 2:30 PM this Friday, December 11th in Ms. Loop’s room.  All Student Council members are encouraged to attend.

December 16-18, all high school students will continue to follow the regular 2:20 in-person schedule rather than an alternate semester exam schedule.  There will not be a formal exam schedule, as in the past. Each teacher will determine their end of the semester assessments, which will then be communicated with the students. 

Last Thursday night the Varsity Scholastic bowl team competed in their first ever Virtual Scholastic bowl matches defeating Deland-Weldon by the scores of 280-150, 190-110 and 300-60 to start the year at 3-0.  Leading the Knights in toss-ups was Sami Boogren with 19 followed by Abby Johnson with 9; Hutch Partlow with 4; Ben Potter with 2; and Aiden Soliday and Annabelle Johnson with 1 each.  The next virtual meet will be TONGHT vs. Cerro Gordo.  Good Luck Knights!

Congratulations to Ashlyn Voyles for being selected as November “Student of the Month”.  Way to go Ashlyn!

Congratulations to the Blue Ridge FFA Agronomy Team for placing 1st in the Section 16 Agronomy contest. Abby Bolen was 3rd overall, Corissa Godbee was 4th overall, and Jaton Shaffer was 6th overall. 

 

The next FFA meeting is December 16th with Committees at 6:30 and Chapter at 7 pm. It is a remote meeting and the link has been sent out to members. If you did not get the email let a chapter officer or Ms. Meisner know. Feel free to dress up and participate in all of the virtual activities!
