The Student Council “Picnic Basket Silent Auction” will be held TODAY during lunch. Bids will closed at the end of lunch and whomever bids the highest for each basket, wins the lunch on Thursday, 4/7!! Payment is expected on Thursday. Bid early and bid often! All winners will be notified by the end of school on Wednesday. All proceeds will go for 2022 Homecoming activities.
Farmer City Rehab is still hiring for their cafeteria positions. If you are interested, please let the office know!
FCA will be meeting Thursday at lunch in Mr. Minteer's room. This month we'll be talking about who Jesus is, what it means to be a Christian, and how to have peace in this crazy world. All are welcome so come join us for a piece of pizza, snacks, and for some Peace at lunch time
Attention Seniors: Jostens will be here on next Monday, April 11th BEFORE SCHOOL with your graduation items that was ordered!
Seniors: It’s still not too late to turn in your Yearbook pictures yet for the graduation slide show. The yearbook committee needs 2 baby pictures, 2 senior pictures and 2 other pictures of you growing up.
Have you ever wondered what happens to characters that don’t make it into the books? Before he decided on the White Rabbit, maybe Lewis Carroll created a groundhog who’s afraid of her shadow? Perhaps Snow White once had 8 dwarves and the 8th is the world’s tallest and strongest dwarf. What if there had been 4 little pigs - and the one that got left out of the story folded origami and made his house out of paper? BRHS Thespian Troupe 5290 has the answers for you! The spring play, Fairy Tale Misfits will be this Friday and Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 2pm. Tickets are only $5 for students and $8 for grown ups! Don’t miss it!
On Monday, 4/11 during lunch in the library there will be a meeting for those of you who will be Knight Buddies with Schneider students. Ms. Clayton will be filling you all in on the important information at that time.
Are you looking for a job or volunteer opportunity? Here are several available:
- Freedom of Movement in White Heath has several opportunities to learn about and work with horses along with a paid position feeding horses 3-4 nights a week. There are also riding lesson opportunities to learn.
- Syngenta in Clinton has summer jobs for students 15 and older with starting pay being $15.89 working in the cornfields helping with pollinating and other projects.
- Remington Seeds in Leroy have summer employment opportunities for Spring 2022 Graduates who will be 18 by the end of May working at their Soybean Location.
- Bayer has Field Inspector positions with an hourly rate of $18.50 for anyone (students/adults who want a summer job) that is 18 and older.
- DeWitt Horse Riding Club are looking for volunteers to assist with events this summer. This does count as community service hours.

Monday, April 11th during the 4th and 5th hours a representative from Midwest Technical Institute will be in the Ag Room. If you have a 4th or 5th-hour study hall and want to attend please see Ms. Meisner for a pass.

Earth Day is April 22rd! Blue Ridge STEM Club is celebrating the earth on Saturday, April 23rd with crafts, snacks and exhibits about our environment! Admission is 1 recyclable item per person for the event. Please register in advance for the available time slots. See the flyers posted around the school or see Ms. Miller or Mr. Scurlock for more information.
Blue Ridge Lady Knights had the game slip away and couldn’t recover Friday night against Ridgeview/Lexington losing 9-1. Freshman Lily Enger came out of retirement from pitching to pitch a full game striking out 2 and only walking 3. This was her first game pitched in 3+ years. Great job Lily! While our offense struggled to put runs on the board, Ashlyn Voyles, Farrah Michaels, Alexis Young and Alexis Wike lead the team with 1 hit each. The Lady Knights take on Cerro Gordo Monday at Cerro Gordo and then play Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at home against Chrisman, Deer Creek and Shiloh respectively. All games start at 430! Senior night is planned for Friday night against Shiloh.
Blue Ridge Varsity Knights got out to an eight-run lead in the sixth inning and held on for a 12-10 victory over Cerro Gordo/Bement on Monday in Cerro Gordo. The Lady Knights tallied 17 hits on the day including a 2 Run Home Run by Ashlyn Voyles, Triple by Cassie Zimmerman and Carson Stiger, and a Double from Alexis Young, Ellie Schleiper, and Lily Summers. Farrah Micheals, Lily Summers and Alexis Young managed three hits each with Ashlyn, Farrah, Cassie, Carson and Ellie batting in 2 runs each. Lillian Enger was the winning pitcher striking out 7 and walking only 1. Great job to the entire team. Blue Ridge is 1-0 in the conference and 2-3 overall on the season. Come check them out at home TONIGHT @ 4:30 against Chrisman.
It was a good day for PRs for the boys track team last night at a quad meet in Arthur. Cadin Dozier, Kyle Watkins and Matt Schumacher contributed a total of 6 personal records in their events. Cole Pemble gave the team a 1st place finish in the long jump with a distance of 20' 9". Kyle Watkins finished 2nd in the 3200m run and Matt Schumacher had 2 3rd place finishes in the Shot and Discus throws. The team finished 3rd overall. Great Job Knights!!
It was a good day for PR's for the BRHS ladies track team last night at ALAH. Morgan Drozs led the throws with a 4th place finish in the discus. Congrats to Phoebe Reynolds for winning the LJ and placing 2nd in the TJ and 300 IH respectively. Congrats to Alexis Wike for winning the HJ at 5' and placing first in the 400. Alexis also placed 3rd in the 100 and 2nd in the 200. Sami Boogren paced the intermediate distances with a 3rd place finishes in the 800 and 1600. Anna Place placed 2nd in the 3200. Way to go BRHS ladies track and field!
