There will be a soccer meeting TODAY at 12:20 in room 202 during lunch.

 

Bring your garden gloves to the town square this Saturday, April 23rd at 9am.  The Farmer City Garden Club will be cleaning up the flower beds and Main St planters.  Plan to help with spreading mulch, weeding, and general clean up.  If you have any questions see Mrs. Raines in the library.

 

Part time Lifeguard and Pool Cashier summer positions are available at the Farmer City pool this summer!  We have the applications in the office!

 

Blue Ridge STEM Club is celebrating the earth this Saturday, April 23rd with crafts, snacks and exhibits about our environment!  Admission is 1 recyclable item per person for the event.  Please register in advance for the available time slots.  See the flyers posted around the school or see Ms. Miller or Mr. Scurlock for more information. Also, this week STEM Club will be hosting our Coins for Critters coin war event! Different teachers have volunteered to sponsor an endangered animal and the STEM Club will be collecting money to donate to the World Wildlife Fund and symbolically adopt the winning animal. The winning teacher will also be sprayed with water after school on Earth Day (Friday). Jars will be set up in the commons during lunch with a STEM Club member collecting funds. 

 

Prom and Post Prom tickets will be sold in the commons during lunch TODAY thru April 29th.   Prom tickets are $15 each and Post Prom tickets are $10 each. Tickets must be purchased in advance. No tickets will be sold at the door! Purchase tickets at the same time for those walking together for Promenade. If you are not here during lunch, please see Mrs. Lagle to purchase your tickets either before or after school. Non-BRHS Guest forms must be signed and returned by Friday May 6.  Prom t-shirt forms are available in the office or from Mrs. Lagle. They are $15 and orders are due by Wednesday, April 27.

 

Seniors-all library books are due back by Monday, May 2nd.  If you have any questions see Mrs. Raines in the library.  All fines paid after May 1st will need to be paid by cash.

 

TONIGHTis an informational meeting at 5:30pm for INCOMING FRESHMAN Basketball players interested in playing sports.  This meeting will be followed by our workout from 6:00-8:00pm. If any players interested in playing are in another sport, and unable to attend this meeting, please reach out to Coach Reeves and he can meet the athlete at a future workout.  At the meeting, we will be providing the information for the TeamReach application that we use to communicate with parents and players, introducing coaches, and going over our off-season basketball program that started Tuesday, which will prepare them for the 2022-2023 basketball season.

 

Both teams put up a bunch of runs, but the Lady Knights late rally fell short against Paxton-Buckley-Loda 12-8 on Tuesday. Blue Ridge put up five runs in the seventh inning with a total of 13 hits in the game.  Ellie Schleiper, Lily Summers, Carsyn Stiger, and Ashlyn Voyles each had multiple hits with a two-run home run by Ashlyn Voyles in the fourth inning. Ava Jamison took the loss going seven innings, striking out four and walking zero.  

 

At the 5 team co-ed Fisher meet last night the Lady Knights placed 2nd overall.  Alexis Wike won the HJ at 5' while Anna Place won the 3200 with a great PR time.  Phoebe Reynolds placed 3rd in the 100HH as did Gracie Shaffer in the Discus.  The 4x800 team of Gracie Shaffer, Morgan Drozs, Brenna Friel and Anna Place took 1st place as well.  The Lady Knights are back in action tomorrow at Argenta with the bus leaving at 3:15.  Go Knights!

 

After school detentions is with Mrs. Lagle in room 205.
