Thursday FFA members traveled to Peoria and competed in the Ag Mechanics and Conduct of Chapter Meeting events. Kaleb Southern and Lillian Enger competed in Ag Mechanics. Kaleb was 19th overall in the state in Welding and Lillian was 5th overall in the state in Carpentry! The Conduct of Chapter meeting team made up of Carmen Ellis, Ava Paullin, Mercedes Manuel, Payton Heiser, Jasmine Petmecky, Kelly Weiss, and Indra Nolan competed in a highly competitive event and placed 5th overall in the state as a team. Individually Carmen Ellis was 6th overall as President. To understand how competitive this event is, floor members are ranked based on the points they earn out of a total of 665 points. Less than 11 points separated our members from top ten with one of our members missing top 10 by 1 point. We are incredibly proud of the hard work this team has put in since October preparing to be competitive at this level.

It's that time of year again when the Marching Band is planning for their upcoming competitive season and we are looking for some individuals interested in being a part of the color guard to play a part in that success. You do not have to have any skill, you do not have to have any prior experience, we would be impressed if you did, you do not have to know anything about marching or color guard to be a part of an incredibly competitive team. Come try it out on May 9th and May 15th from 3:30-5 with auditions on May 19th at 3:30. Can't make it to any of the dates but you're interested? Talk to Ms. Meisner, Mr. Mitchell, or any color guard member- we will work it out for you to learn.

Yearbooks are on sale until May 25th for $55.  This is your last chance to order!
