Auditions for “The Magical Land of Oz” will be held Thursday and Friday in the library from 3:30-5:30 pm. If you want to be involved but can’t attend, please talk to Miss Yeagle. We need Actors, singers, stage crew, director’s assistant, light & sound operators! No experience is needed or necessary!!!

The next FFA SAE night is TONIGHT at 6pm in the Ag Room. Parents and students are invited to attend to learn and work on SAEs.

 

Since some Blue Ridge students and staff members are going to Europe this summer, Ms. Loop is sponsoring an INTERNATIONAL CLUB instead of Spanish Club this semester.  The first meeting of the International Club will be TODAY, during lunch, in Ms. Loop’s room.  Students do not need to be enrolled in a foreign language class to join.

The Snack Shack is officially re-stocked with some new items. Stop by room 212 during a passing period to see what we have in stock!

The commons concession stand will be closed today and tomorrow. 

There will be No school on Monday.

Congratulations to Blue Ridge FFA food science teams. Last night they competed at LSA. Team 1 was 4th overall, team 2 was 7th overall.  Sammi Boogren placed 1st overall individual and Audrie McClain was 6th overall individual.  Other team members include Henry Mitchell, Katie Cole, Sydney Rauch, Anthony Thompson, Kelsie Madden, Alayna Hill.

Anyone interested in playing baseball needs to meet in the chem lab at 1235 TODAY.

There will be no afternoon lifting for track or football on Friday, however, the weight room will be open at 6am on Friday for morning workouts.

Monday morning, January 20th, lifting for track and football will be at 8am instead of 6am. 

If you are interested in boys track, there is still time to get involved in pre-season weight training.  Please see Mr. Kramer for more information.

Attention all Key Club members.  There will be a meeting FRIDAY during lunch in Mrs. Davis's room.

 

The next FFA chapter meeting is January 23rd with committees meeting at 6:30pm and the regular meeting at 7pm.

The CEO class will be hosting a 5k/1 mile run on January 25th in Forsyth at 9am. If anyone wants any further details please speak with Seniors Brenden Flannell or Gabe Jenkins. 

The Student Council is sponsoring a Venus & Mars: Ladies Choice dance on Saturday, February 15th from 7:00-10:00 pm in the Old Gym.  Tickets will be sold during lunch, February 10-13, in the Commons, or may be purchased at the door.  Ticket prices will be $4.00 if the ticket is purchased in advance, or $5.00 if purchased at the dance.  In addition to the dance, the Student Council is sponsoring a Ms. Venus and Mr. Mars contest.  Votes will take place the week before the dance during lunch.  Votes cost 5 cents each. Winners of the contest will be crowned at the dance.  Students who wish to participate in the contest should see Ms. Loop.

 

Student Council will once again sell carnations for Valentine’s Day.  Carnation sales will take place in the Commons the week of January 27th-31st.  Carnations will be delivered Thursday, February 13th during 8th hour. Carnation prices are yet to be determined.

 

Student Council will have a meeting on Tuesday, February 21st during lunch in Ms. Loop’s room.

 

After school detentions, this week is with Ms. Miller in her room.  Lunch detentions TODAY are with Mr. Seneca.
