DAILY STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

for Tuesday, February 2nd         

Attention Mrs Wieber's 7th hour study hall students …. The 7th hour study hall will start meeting in her room starting today!

Due to the day that we stayed home last week when the roads were icy, we have a breakfast and lunch meal to send home with you today. If you would like a meal bag, please stop by the Commons on your way out of the building during dismissal today.   If you are a bus student, please remember that you are not to eat on the bus.

 

Attention seniors from Ms. Thacker -  a google form will be sent out soon to your email asking for your senior quote.  It must be appropriate and no more than 2 sentences.    Please keep it positive!

 

The yearbook class will need 2 senior pics, 2 baby pics and 2 other pictures of you growing up by Apr. 1st.  You can send these digitally to athacker@blueridge18.org or bring them to the school to be scanned! 

Attention Seniors. If you are interested in working on a local Corn and Soybean farm full time after graduation and being trained on Semi and Farm Machinery driving- see Ms. Meisner in the Ag Room for more information.

Attention Seniors, Local scholarship packets are now available in the Library! Packets are for any Senior interested in applying. 

 

Tonights' boys basketball game will be broadcast on Arcola's YouTube channel.  Check Facebook for the link.  Game time is 6 p.m.

 

The next FFA meeting is February, 17th here at the High School. Committees start at 6:30 pm and the Chapter meeting is at 7 pm. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

 

FFA Members selling strawberries, order forms are due Friday, February 5th to Ms. Meisner. 

 

FFA Members wanting to do Parliamentary Procedure or Conduct of Chapter meetings, practices start this Wednesday and Thursday from 5:30-6:30 in the Ag Room. 

 

Current Color Guard members- there will be a meeting in Ms. Meisner's room during lunch on Thursday, February 4th. 

 

Any FFA Member interested in community service, we will be making our annual Valentine's Day cards for the nursing home and the Cancer Center patients on Sunday, February 7th at 5 pm in the Ag Room. This does count towards Chapter, State, and American Degree requirements. 

  

We are planning 2 spirit days on Thursday and Friday this week.  Thursday will be Class Colors day.  Seniors wear Black, Juniors - Blue; Sophomores- Gray and Freshman -White.

Friday make sure to wear you Blue and Silver showing your Knight Pride! 

 Jaton Shaffer has been named January's Student of the Month.  Congratulations Jaton!

The Varsity Scholastic Bowl team competed in and ULTRA competitive virtual Winnebago Invite on Saturday going 1&4 in the morning losing to Winnebago A 105-140, Maine East 55-180, Mahomet-Seymour 75-160, and Glenwood B 125-135 while defeating Quincy B 145-80.  In the afternoon, the Knights went 2-1 defeating Francis Parker B 115-95, and Glenwood C 138-80 before losing to Quincy A 75-175 pushing their overall record to 26-12.   Leading the Knights in toss-ups was Sami Boogren with 39 followed by Annabell Johnson's 14 , Hutch Partlow's 7, Aiden Soliday’s 7,  Conner Otto's 2, and Ben Potter with 1.  The Knights are back in action Tues vs. Deland-Weldon for two matches starting at 3:30pm. Go Knights!
