There is a Junior class meeting TODAY in Mrs. Lagle’s room during lunch.  If you’d like to participate in any homecoming activities, please make sure you attend this meeting!

 

There will be a Homecoming Court meeting for Homecoming attendants and king/queen candidates, TODAY in Ms. Loop’s room during lunch.  All students participating on Homecoming Court need to attend!  If anyone is unable to attend the meeting, please see Ms. Loop today!

 

Seniors, FASFA is a graduation requirement this year. You will need to return a waiver to show you have completed your FASFA application, or a non-participation form to exempt you. One of these waivers is due soon in order to receive your diploma. Please check the counseling google classroom or see Mrs. Raines in the library for a waiver packet.

 

Seniors:  if you haven’t turned in your senior pictures yet for the graduation slideshow, they are due NOW!   If you are unable to get senior pics done, see Ms. Thacker and she can do them after school.

Remember to return or renew your library books.  Fines are now being charged for late books! 

Clean up day is at Woodlawn Country Club is TOMORROW for all members from 8:30am-11:30am.  Golf Coach Schroeder would love to see some of the golfers there to help out!

 

Attention cheerleaders:  Practice is this Friday from 3:30-4:45 on the football field.    

 

The spring production of Though This Be Madness is this weekend starts TONIGHT at 7pm in Moore gym.  It continues Saturday at 7pm then Sunday for a matinee at 2pm. Make your reservations today! Tickets are $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. General admission seating is available but reservations are suggested.   Don’t miss this epic production!  “Wish Upon a Star” Homecoming Spirit Dress-up Days starts Monday 4/19:

 

Monday, April 19, is Country Day. Students should dress like a Country star!

Tuesday, April 20, is Celebrity Day.  Students should dress like their favorite celebrity…such as a Hollywood Star, or a Hollywood movie character.

Wednesday, April 21, is Decades Day.  Each class will dress in fashion of their chosen decade. Seniors:  the 1960’s    Juniors:  the 1970’s   Sophomores:  the 1980’s   & Freshmen:  the 1990’s

Thursday, April 22, is Class Colors Day.  Freshmen shall wear white shirts; Sophomores shall wear silver (gray) shirts; Juniors shall wear blue shirts; Seniors shall wear black shirts; and staff members shall wear their Blue Ridge Jerseys. 

Friday, April 23rd is Blue Ridge Spirit Day.  Everyone should wear their Blue Ridge gear and show us YOUR SPIRIT!

 

Like last year, each class will be awarded points for individual participation in Spirit Week dress up days.  Also, each day we will host a competition for best dressed boy and best dressed girl.  The winner of each day’s dress up competition will receive vouchers for treats from our Snack Shack. 

The following students will be representing their classes in the 2020-2021 Homecoming Royalty Court:

 Freshmen Attendants are Lucy Miller and Zach Lewis.

Sophomore Attendants are Gracie Shaffer and Dylan Coffey.

Junior Attendants are Sarah Whitehouse and Wyatt Cole.

Senior Queen Candidates are Jenna Mozingo, Avery Place, Lindsey Quinn and Corissa Godbee.

Senior King Candidates are Jaton Shaffer, Leo Hardin, Victor Reynolds and Steven Kollross.

All students will be invited to vote for Homecoming King and Homecoming Queen electronically this Thursday or Friday.  Students may vote only once. 

 Summer Volleyball camp forms are in the office for the Volleyball girls.

 Wednesday night members of the FFA Conduct of Chapter Meeting team competed virtually in the District event and placed 2nd overall and will be advancing to State in May. Team members include Kaleb Southern, Anna Place, Lori Weiss, Brenna Friel, Rachel Light, Gracie Shaffer, and Lillian Enger. Kaleb was 1st overall President and Gracie was 3rd overall floor member.

 May 12 will be spring sports photos the schedule is as follows:

Softball: 2:30: on the softball field

Girls track: 3:00 practice field 

Boys track 3:30 practice field

Baseball 4:00 at south park or practice field 


Any girl that is interested in track, please see Mr. Miles as soon as possible.

 

There are summer Golf practice schedules in the office for those of you interested in playing golf this fall.

 

The Lady Knights Varsity Volleyball team lost a hard fought 3 set match to the undefeated LSA lady lions last night 15-25, 25-19, 25-20 to drop their overall record to 7-4.  The JV lost in 2 sets.  Leading the Varsity was Gracie Shaffer with 18 assists and 13 digs followed by Jaclyn Pearl with 10 kills and Jenna Mozingo with 18 digs.  Come and cheer on the Lady Varsity team tonight as they are back in action at HOME at 5:30pm vs. Cornerstone.  Go Knights! 

 

The Football team has a HOME game tonight starting at 7pm vs.Decatur LSA.  Come on out and cheer on the football team.

 

After school detentions this week are with Mrs. Friel.  Lunch detention TODAY are in the office.

 

Today’s lunch menu is: Bosco Sticks or the alternative lunch of Bagel & Cream cheese
