HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

WEDNESDAY, September 26TH

Good Morning!

Students, this is just a reminder that no one should be in the hallways before 8:05, before the first bell, unless you are with a teacher.  If you are caught by faculty or staff, you will be issued a detention.  Also, please remember to lock your lockers!

There will be an FFA meeting on Tuesday, September 25th at 7pm in the Ag Room! Make sure to attend to sign up for committees, hear upcoming events, and meet the new and returning members. If you are interested in FFA and in an Ag Class or going to be in one during the spring feel free to attend! 

Wednesday is the final day that students may drop a class!

Seniors: Columbus Day, October 8th is a great day to visit a college.  Parkland has a morning and an afternoon visit time.  RSVP to Parkland.edu/campus visit.

Thursday, October 11th will be the Volleyball PINK OUT game vs. Arcola.  We will be raising money for Breast Cancer Research at the Carle Mills Breast Cancer Center in Urbana.  All monies raised and donated will be going to Carle.  T-shirt forms are available in the high school office and are due Friday, September 28th!  The Volleyball game will be “PINK OUT” that night and we’ll have raffle prizes to give away.  Come on out and “Paint the Gym PINK” for those who have fought the fight or who are still battling!!

Congratulations to the Boys Golf team for winning the Little Okaw Valley Conference golf championship on Saturday in Robinson, IL.  Aaron Jayne was 4th place medalist and Jacob Mozingo was 6th place medalist which both distinguish them as all-conference awards.  The other members of the championship team were Gavin Raines, Wyatt Summers, Garrett Wendell, and Lewis Williams.

Congratulations to the Soccer team on Saturday who beat Decatur LSA 10 to 0.  Scoring for the Knights were Brenden Flannell with 3 goals, Victor Reynolds with 3, Austin Hobbs with 1, Troyer Gilman with 1, Jacy Dean with 1 and Nick Becker with 1.  Assisting with goals were Brenden Flannell, Tyler Maxwell, Victor Reynolds, Troyer Gilman and Jacy Dean.

Congrats to the JV Volleyball team for going a perfect 4-0 on Saturday to win their 5 team round robin tourney.  Thanks to all the parents and varsity players who helped pitch in to run a successful tournament.  The JV Knights are now 18-3 overall.  Way to go Lady Knights!

Tonight’s Volleyball theme is BLUE & SILVER NIGHT!!  Today the Volleyball team plays Argenta-Oreana at HOME with the Junior Varsity beginning at 6:00 and the Varsity shortly after. TONIGHT is Girls Volleyball Grandparent Night and Pack the Place.  Go Knights!

Today’s lunch menu is:  Orange Chicken Bowl or Hot Ham Sandwich w/Oven Fries, Steamed Broccoli, Baby Carrots, Chilled Mixed Fruit, Juice and Milk
