High School Yearbooks are on sale now for $50 until Feb. 24th!  After that date the price will go up!  See Ms. Thacker to order one.

 

See Coach Miles if you are interested in girls track in the spring.

Anyone interested in Boys Track & Field should see Coach Kramer by Monday January 9th to be added to the 2023 roster.  Weight training for Boys Track will begin next week with practices starting in February.

Over the Christmas break the new gym floor was refinished.  Please do not wear any type of shoes, especially hard soled boots on the floor to scuff it up.  Please take off your shoes when on the floor or wear tennis shoes or you will be cleaning up the marks left on the floor.

Congratulations to the following December Athletes of the Month:

Scholastic Bowl- Brody Soliday.  Brodie has shown tremendous commitment to the high school scholastic bowl team playing split roles between the JV and V squads as needed. Brodie is courteous and always asks if things need to be cleaned up or set up.  Brodie continues to show the willingness to improve in all areas of study and is a solid contributor to the Blue Ridge high school scholastic bowl program. 

 

Boys Basketball – Zach Lewis.  Zach elevated his level of play in the month of December and had a major impact on the 4 wins. Keep up the good work Zach.

 

Girls Basketball - Ava Austin.  Ava Leads us in every offensive statistic.  She is leading scorer, as well as leads in field goal, three point, and free throw percentages.  Ms Austin is second on the team in steals and leads the team in blocks.  Ava has been a great addition to our team this year.

 

Cheer- Phoebe Reynolds.   Phoebe provides the team with a positive and upbeat attitude. She is always keeping things light and fun while still working hard. She does a great job trying new stunts and cheers. Phoebe is a great leader on the team and is always willing to help wherever she is needed!

 

The Boys Basketball team defeated Cumberland on Friday night 55-50.  Congratulations Knights!

 

Congrats to the varsity scholastic bowl team for placing 1st out of 12 teams in the standard division going 8-1 on the day at the IHSSBCA turnabout in Lincoln on Saturday.  The Knights defeated Pleasant Plains B team, Midland B team, Limestone B team, St. Joe B team and Mt. Pulaski in the am.  In the afternoon the Knights defeated Pekin B, Lincoln C team and Athens to claim the championship.  Congrats to AJ Johnson for being the top scorer of those 12 teams and Indra Nolan for being the 6th top scorer in that same division.  Leading the Knights in toss-ups was AJ Johnson with 52 followed by Indra Nolan with 30, Devin Wrestler with 7, Brody Soliday with 6 and Savannah Coffin with 1. Camille Buchanan contributed with several bonus parts.  The JV and Varsity teams are back in conference action on Thursday. Go Knights! 

 

TONIGHT, the Lady Knights play at HOME vs Heritage at 5:30pm in the new gym.
