Attention all Juniors: There will be a Prom Committee meeting during lunch TODAY in Mrs. Lagle’s room. 

Thrive is meeting in Mr. Minteer's room during lunch TODAY and food will be provided. Come join us for good food, good conversations, and good community. Don't just get through the day; Try to THRIVE !

D and D club will meet TODAY after school until about 4:45 in Mr. Minteer's room. Mr. Minteer will run a game with the same group on Thursday after school. If you haven't played D&D yet but you want to try it out, come talk to Mr. Minteer or Profe!

High School Yearbooks are on sale now for $50 until Feb. 24th!  After that date the price will go up!  See Ms. Thacker to order one.

 

Auditions for The Wonderful Wizard of Oz will be TODAY and Friday (1/26 and 1/27) after school in the high school library from 3:30-6:00.  If you want to be involved but can’t make it to auditions, please make alternate audition arrangements with Ms. Yeagle! 

If you are wanting to be certified for lifeguarding or need re-certification to be a lifeguard, please call the City of Farmer City office for more information at 928-3412.

The Student Council is sponsoring 2 events coming up in February:

The Sadie Hawkins/Valentine’s Day Dance on Saturday, February 11th form 7-9pm.  Cost of the dance is $3 singles and $5 couples.  A Mr/Ms Cupid contest will be held and voted on before the dance and winners announced at the dance.  You can sign up to be considered as Mr/Ms Cupid on Feb.2nd and 3rd during lunch and voting will be in English classes the following week and announced for consideration the week of the dance.

 

Student Council will be selling Valentine’s Day Carnations for $1 each with sign-ups on February 2nd and 3rd during lunch. Colors available are Red, White and Pink.

 

Tuesday Night FFA Members traveled to Clinton to compete in an incredibly competitive Section 16 Public Speaking event. Carmen Ellis and Ava Paullin competed in Creed Speaking reciting the FFA Creed and answering questions relating to it. Both made top ten with Carmen placing 6th overall and Ava placing 7th overall. Kaydance Wooton placed 3rd overall in JV Prepared Public Speaking and Gavin Friel just missed the top ten by less than 10 points placing 11th overall in JV Extemporaneous Speaking. In Varsity Extemporaneous Speaking Sydney Rausch placed 7th overall with Kaleb Southern just missing the top ten placing 11th overall. Congratulations to all members!

 

Due to the weather yesterday, the FFA meeting is now rescheduled for Monday, January 30th at 4:30 pm in the Ag Room before the home girls' basketball game. We will be discussing the Section to Region name change along with FFA Camp Scholarships and will be making Valentine's Day Cards for the Nursing Home. If you cannot attend you can make your cards and give them to Ms. Meisner or Ms. Petry by February 10th and talk to Ms. Meisner about the possible name change.
