HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

          for Monday, May 6th                   

Color Guard members: there are schedules outside Ms. Meisner's classroom door. Color Guard practice starts TODAY

Volleyball open gym is TONIGHT from 4:30pm-6pm.

Congratulations to Prom King Keegan Lyle and Prom Queen Taylor Hobbs! Mrs. Lagle would like to thank all of the students, parents, and faculty who helped make this year's Prom and Post Prom a huge success!

The last day to order this year’s yearbook is May 31st!  See Ms. Thacker to order!

There will be a Key Club meeting for ALL members Friday at lunch in Mrs. Jones room.

Summer fieldwork applications are with Mrs. Whitehouse and the main office.  Students who are 14 years old and older by July 1st can apply.  This is an opportunity through Advance Services Inc. and Syngenta in Clinton.  Student workers will be pollinating fields just east of Wapella.  The season starts around July 1st and lasts for about 4-6 weeks.  Wages start at $11 per hour.  There is an open house for more information on May 15th from 9 am - 6pm.  See Mrs. Whitehouse if you have questions.

Student Council will have a meeting Thursday during lunch in the Art room.  We will be voting for officers for next year.  Please see Mrs. Wieber by Wednesday if you would like to be an officer.  We are also having an end of the year celebration meeting, so all members should attend. 

Book Club will meet on Thursday, May 9th in the HS library during lunch.

There will be a soccer meeting for all interested on Friday, May 10th at 12:16 in the new gym.

For those interested in joining the NEW Shooting Club at school, there will be a meeting Friday, May 10th with Mrs. Danner-Duncan and Coach Miles in the library at 12:30 pm during lunch.

All students interested in playing football, there is a meeting Saturday May 11th at pm at the Blue Ridge High School weight room. We will discuss summer practice dates and expectations for the upcoming season. Parents are welcome to attend.

Summer Volleyball camp forms are available from Coach Miles.  Please return by May 10th.

Cheer tryout open gym and instruction will be held May 20th thru 22nd from 3:30-5 in the New Gym.  Cheer tryouts will be held May 23, starting at 3:30 and will be held in the New Gym.  Sign up in the Unit Office!!

The girls track team placed a respectable 7th out of 13 teams competing on Friday at the LOVC track meet in Arcola.  Jenna Mozingo headlines the Lady Knights scoring with 2nd place finishes in the 100HH and 300IH.  Polly Reynolds placed 3rd in the TJ and 6th in the LJ.  Katie Bowns placed 5th in the 3200 and Josephine Aldrich 6th in the 3200 both running PR's.  The 4x800 and 4x200 teams placed 6th, while the 4x400 team placed 5th overall.   Destiny Baker got a PR in the 100m as did Megan Schumacher in the discus.  Way to go Lady Knights track and field.

Today the Varsity Baseball team plays at Fisher beginning at 4:30.  Teachers, please dismiss team members at 2:55 today.  The Varsity Softball team plays at Okaw Valley also beginning at 4:30, and the Bass Fishing team competes in the Sectional Tournament at Clinton Lake that began at 6:30 am. Go Knights!

After school detentions this week are with Mrs. Whitehouse.  Lunch detentions are in the office.
