HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

for Friday, September 20th

 

 

There will be a SOPHOMORE CLASS meeting in Ms. Loop’s room TODAY during lunch. All Sophomores are invited to attend!

TODAY is Key Club meeting.  Come to Mrs. Davis's room during lunch hour. Snacks will be provided.

 

TODAY is a college admissions visit with Illinois College during 3rd hour.  Juniors and Seniors can get a pass from Mrs. Coy or Mrs. Whitehouse before then.  Also next Wednesday, September 25th Mac Murray college will be visiting during 8th hour. Any Juniors or Seniors interested in attending should get a pass as soon as possible from Mrs. Whitehouse or Mrs. Coy. Please continue to check the hallway bulletin board outside of the library to see which colleges are coming to visit next. 

 

The Junior class is selling window decals of your favorite sports or organizations.  Please pick up order form in the office!  The deadline for orders is DUE TUESDAY!

 

Homecoming Dance guest forms are in the office.  If you are bringing a guest to the dance, they must be under age 21 and have a copy of their ID or Drivers License attached to the form.  The dance is Saturday, Oct. 5th in the old gym.

 

An “All You Can Eat” Fish Fry will be held after the Homecoming Parade on Friday, Oct. 4th at the American Legion from 3:30 – 6:30pm.  Tickets are $9 for Adults and $5 for Students!  See any band member or the office to purchase tickets.

 

Homecoming is very close and the Garden House is donating $1 to the BRHS Boosters for every corsage ordered for your “special guy or gal” for homecoming.  Call 928-5454 to place your order!

Students interested in learning more about college and career options are encouraged to make an appointment with Mrs. Coy. It’s important for all Seniors to start acting on your college and career plans. Every college has a different deadline, so be sure to check with your college choices and see when is the right time to apply. You should aim to apply by Nov 1st for an early college decision. Also, mark your calendars as FASFA will go live October 1st, which is when students should plan to apply. Mrs. Coy is available to help you in the library on Wednesdays and Fridays for any assistance you may need. She also has FREE college swag items, so stop by her office to get yours! 

Congrats to the Varsity Volleyball team for defeating LSA last night 25-21 and 25-10 to improve to 16-2 (4-0) in the LPC.  The JV lost a close contest to the hosts in 3 sets 23-25, 25-21, 15-13.   Jenna Mozingo 15 digs, Gracie Shaffer 11 assists, Nadia beadle and Willa Manuel 5 kills each and Meah Carter 4 blocks.  Way to Go Knights!

The Boys Golf team dropped their match yesterday to EP-G.  Aaron Jayne shot a career best and tied the school record which had been unchallenged since 2003 with a 3 under par 32.  Wyatt Summers contributed a solid 46.  The girls also dropped their match as well.  Macy Baird led the scoring with a 47 followed by 51 from both Ashlyn Voyles and Alyvia Bernard.

Today the Football Team plays Cumberland at HOME. Kick-Off Time is 7:00. Go Knights!

The Lady Knights Volleyball team has a tournament at home starting at 8am on Saturday.

 Today’s lunch menu is: Cheese Pizza and side salad

 Chef Salads are available daily.  Please let the office know in the mornings if you’d like one.

 

 REMEMBER:  there is NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY!
