HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

for Tuesday, September 24th

 

 

Wednesday, September 25th MacMurray College will be visiting during 8th hour. Any Juniors or Seniors interested in attending should get a pass today or Wednesday morning from Mrs. Whitehouse or Mrs. Coy. Please continue to check the hallway bulletin board outside of the library to see which colleges are coming to visit next. 

 

TODAY the Junior class window decals orders of your favorite sports or organizations are due in the office!’

Juniors, please turn your orders into the office TODAY.

 

Homecoming Dance guest forms are in the office for October 5th.  If you are bringing a guest to the dance, they must be under age 21 and have a copy of their ID or Drivers License attached to the form.  The dance is Saturday, Oct. 5th in the old gym and forms are due back in the office on October 2nd.

 

Next week is your chance to have fun and save lives.  Paint and decorate a pumpkin.   Bring it to school on Monday morning.  Then, everyone will have the chance to vote for the best pumpkin during lunch hour all week.   The two pumpkins that raise the most money will earn a gift card for their creator:)   Key Club is sponsoring this to raise money for The Eliminate Project.

Homecoming King/Queen Candidates and Attendants need to turn in their biography pages to Ms. Loop TODAY!  Also, there will be Coronation practice TODAY at 3:15 in the Old Gym and again on Thursday at 3:15.  ALL members of the Homecoming Court are obligated to attend!

 

There will be a GAMES committee meeting for Homecoming TODAY during lunch in Ms. Loop..  Wednesday will be a DECORATIONS committee meeting and Thursday will be a meeting for all Student Council Members.

 

 

An “All You Can Eat” Fish Fry will be held after the Homecoming Parade on Friday, Oct. 4th at the American Legion from 3:30 – 6:30pm.  Tickets are $9 for Adults and $5 for Students!  See any band member or the office to purchase tickets.

 

The Garden House is graciously donating $1 to the BRHS Boosters for every Homecoming corsage ordered for your Homecoming date.  Call 928-5454 to place your order!

Students interested in learning more about college and career options are encouraged to make an appointment with Mrs. Coy. It’s important for all Seniors to start acting on your college and career plans. Every college has a different deadline, so be sure to check with your college choices and see when is the right time to apply. You should aim to apply by Nov 1st for an early college decision. Also, mark your calendars as FASFA will go live October 1st, which is when students should plan to apply. Mrs. Coy is available to help you in the library on Wednesdays and Fridays for any assistance you may need. She also has FREE college swag items, so stop by her office to get yours! 

Over the weekend the Varsity and JV Volleyball teams both went 3-1 in the day placing 2nd out of 5 teams competing.  Congrats to Meah Carter, Willa Manuel and Gracie Shaffer for being named to the tourney's all-tournament team.  Congrats to the JV volleyball team for defeating LeRoy last night in two sets.  The Varsity fell to the hosts in two close sets to drop their overall record to 19-4.  Leading the Knights was Jenna Mozingo's 21 digs, Gracie Shaffers 11 assists, and Meah Carter's 4 kills.  Go Knights!

Today the Boys and Girls Golf teams play at Fisher. Tee-Time is 4:00. Teachers, please dismiss the Golf teams at 2:35 today. 

The Soccer team plays TODAY Cornerstone Christian Academy at HOME beginning at 4:30; and the Volleyball Team travels to Arthur-Lovington with the Junior Varsity beginning at 6:00 and the Varsity shortly after. Go Knights!

Lunch detentions today are with Mrs. Wieber in the Art room.  After school detentions are with Mrs. Whitehouse.

Today’s lunch menu is: Chicken Quesadilla or Italian Beef

 Chef Salads are available daily.  Please let the office know in the mornings if you’d like one.
