HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

for Thursday, September 26th

 

 

Homecoming Dance guest forms are in the office for October 5th.  If you are bringing a guest to the dance, they must be under age 21 and have a copy of their ID or Drivers License attached to the form.  The dance is Saturday, Oct. 5th in the old gym and forms are due back in the office on Wednesday, October 2nd.

 

Next week is your chance to have fun and save live!.  Paint and decorate a pumpkin!   Bring it to school on Monday morning.  Then, everyone will have the chance to vote for the best pumpkin during lunch hour all week.   The two pumpkins that raise the most money will earn a gift card for their creator:)   Key Club is sponsoring this to raise money for The Eliminate Project.

TODAY the Student Council will be a meeting for all Student Council Members during lunch in Ms. Loop’s room regarding Homecoming.

 

Sign ups for homecoming week games, led by the cheerleaders, will be held Friday before school and also at lunch in the commons.  Partner games are Hungry Hippo, Cheeseball Toss, Leg War and Rock, Paper, Scissor, Split.  Non-partner games are Tissue Box Wiggle and Corn on the Cob Chow.  See you at sign ups!!

 

There are library fines for overdue books, at 10 cents per day, so make sure and renew your books in the library. 

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Homecoming Fish Fry has been changed to an “All You Can Taco Bar” with Shredded Chicken Tacos with all the fixins’.  It will still be held after the Homecoming Parade on Friday, Oct. 4th at the American Legion from 3:30 – 6:30pm.  Tickets are $9 for Adults and $5 for Students!  See any band member to purchase tickets.

 

The Garden House is graciously donating $1 to the BRHS Boosters for every Homecoming corsage ordered for your Homecoming date.  Call 928-5454 to place your order!

Students interested in learning more about college and career options are encouraged to make an appointment with Mrs. Coy. It’s important for all Seniors to start acting on your college and career plans. Every college has a different deadline, so be sure to check with your college choices and see when is the right time to apply. You should aim to apply by Nov 1st for an early college decision. Also, mark your calendars as FASFA will go live October 1st, which is when students should plan to apply. Mrs. Coy is available to help you in the library on Wednesdays and Fridays for any assistance you may need. She also has FREE college swag items, so stop by her office to get yours! 

The Boys Golf team dropped a close match yesterday to Iroquois West on their home course.  Aaron Jayne a 38, Dylan Kelley 45, and Wyatt Summers 46.

Today the Girls Golf team competes at St. Thomas More. Tee-Time is 4:00.  Teachers, please dismiss the Girls Golf team at 2:45 today.  The Soccer team plays at Watseka beginning at 4:30; and the Volleyball team plays Villa Grove at HOME with the Junior Varsity beginning at 6:00 and the Varsity shortly after. Go Knights!

Lunch detentions Thursday are with Miss Miller.  After school detentions this week are with the office.

 Today’s lunch menu is: Chicken Patty w/bun or Chicken Tenders with Whipped Potatoes

 Chef Salads are available daily.  Please let the office know in the mornings if you’d like one.
