HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

for Tuesday, October 22nd

 

Attention all soccer players -- please return your uniforms to Mrs. Flannell this week and stop in also to sign a card of thanks for the 2019 ball boys.

 

Blue Ridge FFA still has a few pumpkins for sale!  Get them while they are here! $3 for the small ones and $5 for the large ones.  

McKendree University will be visiting on Thursday at 9:00am during second hour.  Please see Mrs. Coy or Mrs. Whitehouse for a pass.

 

Do you want some Halloween candy, but don’t want to spend hours trick-or-treating? The library’s two

sentence horror story contest will give you a chance to win an entire bag of chocolate Halloween

candy—and terrify the high school! Muahahahaha! Submit your two sentence horror story this week, and

vote for your favorite next week. Look for flyers posted around the school or see your librarians for

more information!

 

There will be re-tryouts for the basketball cheer squad with open gym and instruction will be held Tuesday and Wednesday morning from 7-8 am and also 3:30-4:30 pm in the old gym and the tryout will be held on Oct 24th, starting right after school.  See Coach Kristi with any questions.  

 

The October FFA Meeting will be THURSDAY with committee meetings at 6:30 and the FFA Chapter meeting at 7pm. Wear an FFA Shirt for the Trick or Treat for Hunger activity after the meeting.

School pictures retakes are this FRIDAY!  If want to retake a previous picture, please bring your pictures you received back to the photographers.  If you were not here that day, you will be requested to take your pictures on Friday!

 

Key Club is sponsoring a Blood Drive November 15.  Sign up during lunch hour next week or see Mrs. Davis.

 

Congratulations to the FFA last night with their success at Super Monday! The Ag Sales team made up of Jaton Shaffer, Morgan Drozs, Sami Boogren, and Gracie Myers-Nichols placed 2nd overall in the section with Jaton and Morgan placing 2nd and Sami 3rd with their respective judges. The Greenhand Quizbowl team placed 4th overall with Kaleb Southern, Sierra Farrare, Sydney Rausch, Brenna Friel, and Brenden Hughes making up the team. Abby Bolen, Wyatt Summers, Morgan Drozs, Katie Cole, Gracie Myers- Nichols, and Jaton Shaffer competed in SAE Expo with Morgan and Abby winning their Divisions. Tatem Madden, Henry Mitchell, and Jaton Shaffer competed in the Grain Fair with results still pending. 

TONIGHT the Volleyball team plays Okaw Valley at HOME with the Junior Varsity beginning at

6:00 and the Varsity shortly after. Go Knights!

Lunch detentions TODAY are with Mrs. Davis in the Alt Ed room.  After school detentions this week are with Mr. Sparks.

 Today’s lunch menu is: Chicken Quesadilla or Italian Beef
