BRHS DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

for Wednesday, December 11th

 

Students, please look on Skyward at your second semester schedule.  Now is the time to make sure that there are no errors.  If you see something that doesn't look right, please contact Mrs. Whitehouse or Mrs. Coy. 

 

If any students are considering adding Art Appreciation to their schedule, 3rd hour next semester, they must see Mrs. Whitehouse this week because of Parkland paperwork.  

 

The Student Council dress up contest is this week!

Remaining activities are:

TOMORROW: Santa/Christmas Hat Day

Friday: Christmas Characters Day 

 

Freshmen had 9% participation and for 5th place; Seniors had 21% for 4th place; Juniors had 23% for 3rd place; Sophomores had 29% participation for 2nd place; and the BRHS employees had a remarkable 83% participation rate and have won Day 2.  Grace Coffey is the winner of the ugliest Christmas sweater. Congratulations Grace!

 

Winners from each day’s contest will win a “Candy Gram” prize, chosen each day at lunch by secret voters.  Also, Student Council will award Christmas cookies, during lunch on Tuesday, December 18, to the class who participates the most for the entire week. 

 

Student Council students are selling Candy Grams during the lunch next week.  Candy Grams can also be purchased in my room, 208.  Candy Grams cost $2.00.  Proceeds will be donated to the USO: Operation Phone Home project, as part of our Veterans Appreciation mission. Candy Grams will be delivered to recipients on Monday, December 16th

 

Christmas in the library will be on Friday Dec 13th during lunch.  Stop in for Christmas music, snacks, Christmas craft making, and possibly a reindeer game.  Don't forget your lunch!  Thank you to the Key Club for sponsoring this event.  

 

Are you interested in working for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources? A representative from the IDNR will be visiting on Friday during first hour.  See Mrs. Coy or Mrs. Whitehouse for your pass! 

The Junior Class is selling Gondola Sandwich meals at the Boys & Girls Basketball games this Friday night, December 13th for just $6! 

Congratulations to the Boys Basketball team who last night defeated University High School 50 to 43.  Leading scorers were Wayne Bowns, Cole Stephens and Zack Stephens.

After school detentions this week are with Mr. Duke.  Lunch detentions Tuesday and Thursday are with Mr. Seneca.

 Lunch menu for today is:  Bosco Sticks or Chicken Tenders
