for Thursday, December 12th

 

Students, please look on Skyward at your second semester schedule.  Now is the time to make sure that there are no errors.  If you see something that doesn't look right, please contact Mrs. Whitehouse or Mrs. Coy. 

 

If any students are considering adding Art Appreciation to their schedule, 3rd hour next semester, they must see Mrs. Whitehouse this week because of Parkland paperwork.  

 

The Student Council holiday dress up contest finishes Friday!

Here are the results from Wednesday’s Socks and Tie Spirit Day:

 

Freshmen had 20% participation; Sophomores-35%; Juniors-31%; Seniors-26%; and Employees-80%.  Thank you to all who participated!

 

The winner of the best tie and socks was Gabe Jenkins.  Best of luck from your Student Council!

 

Winners from each day’s contest will win a “Candy Gram” prize, chosen each day at lunch by secret voters.  Also, Student Council will award Christmas cookies, during lunch on Tuesday, December 18, to the class who participates the most for the entire week. 

 

Student Council is selling Candy Grams during the lunch.  Candy Grams can also be purchased in my room, 208.  Candy Grams cost $2.00.  Proceeds will be donated to the USO: Operation Phone Home project, as part of our Veterans Appreciation mission. Candy Grams will be delivered to recipients on Monday, December 16th

 

Christmas in the library will be on Friday during lunch.  Stop in for Christmas music, snacks, Christmas craft making, and possibly a reindeer game.  Don't forget your lunch!  Thank you to the Key Club for sponsoring this event. 

 

Last night the Parliamentary Procedure team, Code of Conduct Meetings team, and Job Interview individuals competed in their events. Parliamentary Procedure took 2nd place and will be advancing to Districts for the 4th year in a row! Team members include Gracie Myers-Nichols, Katie Cole, Corissa Godbee, Jaton Shaffer, Audrie McClain, and Henry Mitchell. Gracie was 3rd overall Chair, Katie was 2nd overall Secretary, Audrie was 1st overall floor member and Jaton was 3rd overall floor member.  Code of Conduct Meetings was 2nd overall and will be advancing to Districts for the 3rd time in a row! Team members include: Kaleb Southern, Brenna Friel, Brenden Hughes, Sierra Farrare, Sydney Rausch, Abby Trimble, and Gracie Shaffer. Jaton Shaffer, Gracie Myers-Nichols, Sydney Rausch, and Tatem Madden competed in Job Interview. Jaton was 5th overall in Varsity, Gracie was 6th overall in Varsity, Tatem was 6th in JV, and Sydney was 7th. Congrats to all of our members on their success last night!  

 

The high school band and chorus holiday concert will be on Tuesday, 12/17 at 7pm in the old gym.

The Junior Class is selling Gondola Sandwich meals at the Boys & Girls Basketball games this Friday night, December 13th for just $6! 

Today the Girls Basketball Team plays at Villa Grove beginning at 6:00. Go Knights!

After school detentions this week are with Mr. Duke.  Lunch detentions TODAY are with Mr. Seneca.

 Lunch menu for today is:  Chicken Nuggets or McRib Sandwich
