The Student Council is sponsoring a Venus & Mars: Ladies Choice dance on Saturday, February 15th from 7:00-10:00 pm in the Old Gym.  Tickets will be sold during lunch, February 10-13, in the Commons, or may be purchased at the door.  Ticket prices will be $4 if the ticket is purchased in advance, or $5 if purchased at the door.  In addition to the dance, a Venus & Mars contest will be held.  Voting will take place the week before the dance during lunch.  Votes cost 5 cents each. Winners of the contest will be crowned at the dance.  Students who wish to participate in the contest should see Ms. Loop.

 

Student Council is selling carnations for Valentine’s Day during lunch TODAY.  This is your last chance to order!  Carnations will be delivered Thursday, February 13th during 8th hour. Carnations cost $2 each or 3 for $5.

The Farmer City Chamber of Commerce is looking for two students to be a part of their team.  If you would be interested in learning more about local businesses and offering insight to local leaders, please let Mrs. Whitehouse know.

 

Adulting is hard. That is why the Keller-Williams Kids Can program is offering Quantum Leap -- This FREE half-day workshop is a transformational experience that helps young adults think bigger, and provides you with tools to succeed in life and business.  Join Blue Ridge graduate, Ashley Miller, as you talk about goals, habits, money and adulting.  Event flyers can be picked up in the office, where you can find more information and how to register. 

 

Key Club is sponsoring a Keep Warm Drive.  Bring your donations of new hats, gloves, scarves, or socks to the library now and the month of February. 

 

Freshman Orientation will be on February 12th during the day and parent meeting in the evening at 7pm in the Commons

 

Key Club is having a Pet Contest in February!  Bring in a picture of your pet to win $10 to the Snack Shack!  Help us bring awareness to animals in need!  This contest will be from Feb. 18th – Feb. 20th.  Voting is free and will take place during lunch.

 

Last night in LPC Scholastic Bowl Action at Villa Grove the Varsity and JV teams both split on the evening defeating Tri-County and losing to Villa Grove.  The 27-9 (7-2) Varsity Knights was led in toss-ups by Nadia Beadle with 11 followed by Sami Boogren with 5, Abby Johnson with 3, Hutch Partlow with 2 and Josephine Aldrich with 1.  The JV Scholastic Bowl team was led in toss-ups by Aiden Soliday with 6 and Caleb Hirschman with 4.  The varsity is back in action tomorrow with their annual pilgrimage to the Winnebago Invite with the bus departing at 5:30 am.  The JV gets a taste of tourney experience tomorrow morning at Roanoke-Benson with the bus departing at 6:45 am.  Go Knights scholastic bowl!
