BRHS DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

There will be an emergency student council meeting today at lunch in the office to finalize plans for the dance.
Section 16 Proficiency Awards has been POSTPONED to next Thursday, February 20th.
HS Spring sports meeting is rescheduled for Monday, February 24th at 6pm.
Reminder for football players - Morning meetings are held at 8am DAILY through the end of FEBRUARY to bring players up to speed with changes in the program. Meetings only last 10 minutes. Be there so you are not left behind.
Morning lifting on Friday and Monday will be at 8am.
Students, please remember to go line and sign up for next fall’s classes!!
The Venus & Mars Ladies Choice dance is this Saturday, February 15th from 7:00-10:00 pm in the Old Gym and guest dance forms are available in the office and due TODAY! Tickets will be sold during lunch this week in the Commons. Ticket prices will be $4 in advance or $5 at the door. Also, a Venus & Mars contest will be held and voting will take place during lunch with votes costing 5 cents each. Winners of the contest will be crowned at the dance. Students who wish to participate in the contest should see Ms. Loop.
The next blood drive will be on Thursday, March 5. Key Club sign up during lunches next week to donate.
Freshman Orientation will be Wednesday the 19th with a parent meeting will then be held in the evening at 6pm in the Commons. 8th grade students may come to the evening session if they wish to.
Local Scholarship packets are available for BRHS seniors! All local scholarships are due by April 1st. Packets can be picked up in English classrooms, the Counseling office, and the main office.
Key Club is having a Pet Contest in February! Bring in a picture of your pet as soon as possible to Mrs. Davis’s room to win $10 to the Snack Shack! Help us bring awareness to animals in need! This contest will be from Feb. 18th – Feb. 20th. Voting is free and will take place during lunch.
We will have a Teacher’s Institute Day Friday, February 14th and NO SCHOOL on Monday, Feb. 17th!
FFA Week will be the last week of February and we will begin the week with a 2:20 Schedule with an ALL School Assembly after 2:20 in the New Gym.
Blue Ridge Key Club and Kiwanis Club of Farmer City are holding a Chili Supper at the basketball game on Feb. 21, from 5:30-7 p.m. in the BRHS Commons Area. Chili with all the fixings, brownies, and ice tea for $5. Proceeds go to service projects in the community. Come on out and support a good cause!
The Knight to Remember Talent show and dinner is back on Friday, February 28th here at the school. Stay tunes for more details! Any band member has tickets that you may purchase from.
After school detentions this week are with Mrs. Wieber. Lunch detentions are with Mr. Seneca today.
The Concession stand will not be open today during lunch!
