Blue Ridge will join the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) in the twelfth statewide survey of school climate and learning conditions. The survey provides a unique opportunity for 4th-12th grade students, teachers and parents to have a voice in improving their schools. Please see the informational letter here: https://5il.co/2dx9n Students and teachers will take their survey between February 12 and March 22. If you would prefer that your student does not take the survey, please complete and return this form: https://5il.co/2dx9m and return it to your student’s school by February 9. The parent survey is open and will remain open through March 29. You may access the parent survey here: http://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/. These surveys will serve as an opportunity for schools to reflect on progress since the last statewide implementation. You will receive reminders during the survey window as we highly encourage all our teachers, students, and parents to make their voices heard to impact positive growth in our schools. #br_u_knighted
Kindergarten Registration will be held on Tuesday, March 5, at 5:45 p.m. in the Schneider School Cafeteria. Students who turn 5 on or before September 1, 2024, are eligible for Kindergarten. Parents will need to bring an official birth certificate and two proofs of residence if your child did not attend the Blue Ridge PreK/ECSE program. No children at the event, please! Be sure to call the Schneider Office at 309-928-2611 to ask any questions.

There are still significant concerns with our ability to safely transport students to school in the morning. For that reason, we will be E- Learning on Tues, Jan 23. The plans will be as follows:
Pre-K students will use their choice boards.
K-3 students will use Day 2 of their E-Learning packets. No Google Meets.
4-6 students will use Day 2 of their E-Learning packets. The regularly scheduled Google Meets are highly recommended, if technology is available. See directions listed below.
7-12 students will log into Google Meets using a district device, if available. If not available, students may use a home device, such as a phone, and log into a Google Chrome browser, if possible. This will allow access to saved bookmarks. Students will then sign into their school based Google account using their Blue Ridge emails and passwords. We understand that in some cases, home devices are not possible.
Attendance will be taken via Google Meets for 7-12; for 4-6, attendance will be taken via Google Meets OR through turning in the learning packet within 5 days after their return to class. For K-3, attendance will be taken through turning in packets within 5 days after their return to class. Pre-K teachers will be in contact with families for attendance purposes.

I'm sending another message to hopefully clarify how our days off impact our calendar. We've used one E-Learning Day; that will not impact the calendar as learning occurred. We've now used two Emergency Days, so as of today, our last day of student attendance will be Thursday, May 23, 2024. There is much that goes into a decision, so please take time to read the document that was previously shared as a reminder: https://5il.co/2agy0. IF we need to be out again tomorrow, students are advised to find a device with which they can connect to Google Meets as we would use an E-Learning Day. Due to the ice accumulation that has already started, Blue Ridge will be closed today, using an emergency day. Most likely activities will be cancelled, but coaches and sponsors will confirm. #br_u_knighted
As a follow up, please know that we do our best to watch forecasts and send devices home with students when we anticipate inclement weather. My goal is to have proper materials at home if we decide to E Learn. To that end, please work today to find a home device, if needed, as we may be on weather watch Tuesday morning as well. #br_u_knighted

Busing update for 1.11.24- with one driver added back in, the only delays will be for Blue and Purple, which will run from on time to up to 15 minutes delayed. Shuttles will run on time. Thank you!
Three drivers are out today. Red and Blue routes can see from no delay up to 60 minutes due to the rerouting. Shuttles will not run until routes are complete. If you can provide transportation for your student today it would be greatly appreciated. #br_u_knighted
