Our Softball team traveled to Paxton tonight and won a hard fought back and forth game in 7 innings with a score of 9-6. The big news on the evening was Ellie Schlieper reaching 500 career strikeouts. Way to go Knights!!
Please join me in thanking all of our BR Bus Drivers today and EVERY DAY! I bet you there's no other job in the district that receives more "I could never do that job" comments. Thank you, drivers! #br_u_knighted

Blue Ridge High School is pleased to announce the newest members of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the National Honor Society. These students excel not only with great grades, but also in the areas of Leadership, Character, and Service! Our new members will be inducted at a ceremony just prior to Honors Night on May 8, 6:00 PM. All are welcome to attend.
Congratulations, students!

Yesterday, four students from BRIJHS had the opportunity to visit the WCIA studio and promote the spring play production, Mission:Possible! The students got to meet Taylor and Jacob and watch as they filmed the last part of the 12:00 news program. It was an exciting day and a great way to see the many job opportunities theatre can provide! (We even met a BRHS alum, Rob Goode, who was the sound technician for the news cast!)
Don’t forget the play is this weekend! Make plans to attend (early and often - one time won’t be enough!!)

Today was the LPC Senior Awards Recognition and luncheon. Each conference school brought 2 seniors who excel academically and also athletically. BRHS was definitely well represented by Isaac Price and Lillian Enger!

Tonight we honored our Senior Softball Players and Senior Girl's Track:
Softball L to R: Carsyn Stiger, Mya Laidley, Ellie Schlieper and Lily Enger
Track: Mya Laidley.

Join us in congratulating this month's Exemplary Knights!

Tomorrow afternoon, BRHS is recognizing the seniors on the softball and girls track team. Come support the ladies at Weedman Park! They will be recognized before the start of the softball game at approximately 4:25PM. We hope to see many friendly faces in the stands to celebrate their hard work and dedication to the programs.

Please check out the video link below created by one of our soon-to-be graduates! She's interviewed some transportation employees so you can hear their experience with driving a bus. We'd love to tell you more!

On Thursday, April 10, Blue Ridge High School juniors, Maddison Grider and Karly Warner, and sophomores Kaleb Forrest and Broghen Flannell attended State Senator Sally Turner's Youth Advisory Council in Springfield at the Illinois State Capitol. Students participated in a mock committee meeting, listened to two guest speakers - one in the beautifully renovated senate chamber, and learned more about how the Illinois General Assembly works. Senator Turner represents the 44th senate district, which includes all three of our towns.

Tonight the Farmer City Chamber of Commerce recognized the Staff Members of the Year and the Students of the year. This year's recipients for Staff Member of the Year included Kristin Wilkinson, Mindy Ester, Lauren Lacy. This year's Students of the Year included Josh Berkler, Ellie Schlieper, Lily Enger. Congratulations to all recipients!

At BRIJHS today, Ms. Griffen's class had a parent visitor to help make paracord bracelets. All enjoyed the activity!

Mrs. Ward’s Kindergarteners learned about sunlight today in the most delicious way - with sunlight s’mores! They set up their s’mores to “cook” then went to explore effects of the sun on the playground equipment. They touched dark and light colored surfaces and could even feel the heat bouncing off the metal slides. When they checked on their s’mores they were surprised to find the chocolate had melted even on a chilly day like today! ☀️

Sharing a fun activity from 4th grade!
